“Nindy, to my office,” Andrew said as he opened the door to his office slightly. Creating an opening that he could use to watch the assistant work. Although Nindy had been working for him for two years and had survived until this moment, but still sometimes the mistakes she made were enough to irritate Andrew.
Even so, Nindy is someone who can keep up with Andrew’s fast and concise way of working with minimal errors. At least the assistant was reliable and didn’t have to change as often as when he first set foot in The Collage. According to Andrew, the assistant who would help him with his work was incompetent.
“Yes, sir.” Nindy hurried to grab one of the notepads she usually carried before entering Andrew’s room. The boss was used to talking at top speed. She couldn’t miss any important orders including the schedule changes that Andrew sometimes arbitrarily changed.
“Sit down,” Andrew ordered without looking at his assistant who had stepped into his room. Which command was immediately responded to with a nod by Nindy. Even her hands were ready to take notes on whatever came out of her mouth later. “Did you send a package for Nami?”
“Already, sir.” Nindy opened her notes quickly. “Received by security and I have confirmed that the package is already in Miss Nami’s hands.”
Actually, Andrew didn’t even need that information. The reply message from Giselle that made his heart happy, he didn’t know how many times he had read it. He couldn’t hide his excitement at the reply message from Giselle, but still, in front of the staff, he had to behave.
“For the next day, send a bouquet of flowers along with a vase that can be placed in her room.”
“Yes, sir. For the bakery, will it be sent again?”
Andrew thought for a while before he grinned slightly. “Replace it with something else as long as it’s chocolate. I’m sure you can be counted on to find the best one.”
“I’ll send you references to stores around the Ford building to make it easier for you to send a gift to Miss Nami.”
Andrew nodded in understanding. “And now, about Unique. Is there any recent news?”
Nindy quickly took out a flashdrive from her pocket. “I have gathered everything here along with the confirmation of each place. They all confirmed the presence of Mr. Carlton and this Mysterious Lady.”
Andrew quickly picked up the flashdrive that was handed over. Examining it for a moment and pulling the corners of his lips up even more. “When are we scheduled to visit Unique?”
“Tomorrow afternoon, sir. An appointment has been made with Mr. Carlton’s side.”
“Okay.” He picked up one of the files piled up on his desk. “Submit this document to the finance department. And please call the team of journalists handling the case of the mining area lawsuit in West Union.”
Nindy nodded immediately. Rushing out of Andrew’s room because there was nothing more to talk about. The task that she found a little strange was to give a regular gift to a figure named Nami. Although she knew that the figure was a model that people were talking about; Giselle Namizuka, but still she found it quite surprising.
The record of cold, expressionless man had been held by the boss since his arrival to replace the previous boss. He rarely talks unnecessarily. He always takes things seriously and is busy in front of his worksheets. Sometimes, during busy times, he would stay late to complete some projects. Interaction with both male and female staff was rare. As an assistant who is said to often accompany the boss wherever he goes, in fact for Nindy, he is more often sitting at his desk.
The boss prefers to mind his own business.
So it was a miracle to find out that the boss was interested in the opposite sex. At least it disproves the notion that Andrew Kingston is a normal, single man with really high tastes.
In the meantime, Andrew’s cell phone again caught his attention very strongly, not because of the new message or the notification of the offer from the bank that he often ignored. But once again, his hand unconsciously opened the window of his conversation with Giselle. Complete with a photo of a beautiful bouquet of flowers and Giselle’s hand that he recognized very well.
“Looking forward to meeting you, Nami.” She immediately put her cell phone back down. He immediately gathered his concentration that had been shattered. Perhaps because his mood was at its highest, it was not difficult to start the work that had been paused due to many things. Including looking at the cell phone containing the photo that Giselle sent for him.
It was up to people to give her strange looks, but her heart was bursting with excitement. Thinking about the day when she would be invited as a guest on the final night of the prestigious event made her want to reach that day immediately. But that was impossible, right?
No sooner had he finished one piece of work that was scattered across the table than his cell phone demanded his attention. Although he had a little hope that it might be Giselle calling, but it was ridiculous to think that. When he glanced at it, Carlton’s name appeared on the screen.
His smile suddenly appeared. Although he had to give up his excitement because of Giselle, he had one thing that could be used as a moment to reap a lot of profits. Not being sneaky, but a businessman must know when to exert effort and when to relax with the desired order.
He often manipulates the news for certain purposes. But there is one thing he doesn’t want to do: expose the truth related to justice and humanity. He dislikes violence and human rights violations.
“Afternoon, Carlton,” Andrew greeted as he leaned back in his oversized chair.Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.
“Did you get what I wanted?” asked the man on the other end sternly.
“Take it easy. My people are looking for information, so don’t doubt its validity.”
Carlton chuckle. “Our agreement is still the same. I don’t want any news about me to spread.”
“That’s easy,” Andrew said. His back straightened and he chose to leave his chair. Standing in his favorite spot; close to the window in his office. There was a clear view of the activity on the main street with its many tall buildings. “You want to discuss it on the phone? Wasn’t my request clear yesterday?”
“Can you confirm that almost all media outlets don’t report that?”
Andrew chuckled. Someone was losing money because of the news in his hands, indicating that something was being hidden very tightly. Finding out who the woman was beside the man whose name was becoming publicly known as the successor to Charles Dominique.
“You can do it, Carlton. I have no problem asking my other colleagues for help, as long as you fulfill my request.”
“It’s fine as long as I’m free from the media chasing me.”
Andrew grinned slightly. “To be clear, we’ll discuss it at the meeting tomorrow. You made the appointment, right? Or do you have other things to do?”
“No,” Carlton said simply. “Let’s take care of this first.”
“All right. The client’s wish is a job for us.”
Not long after, the phone line was disconnected. Leaving Andrew still staring at the activity down there. The sound of horns and the roar of passing vehicles seemed to be a lively sound out there. Since the windows in his room could not be opened carelessly, Andrew just enjoyed the view from a height.
The smile that was there earlier had been replaced with a flat expression. “In this world of masks, don’t you get tired?” she asked softly. “A covered-up affair, huh?” Andrew grimaced. “As tightly as the media covers it up, there’s nothing to hide from a wife’s intuition. It’s just a matter of waiting to see when it all comes out. You could say… I’m nurturing a time bomb.” He left where he was standing. Choosing to return to work because he had a lot to accomplish.
Before his ass had even settled into his oversized chair, his cell phone demanded his attention again. An incoming message that made him pause.
