Chapter 812
Chapter 812
Agnes had prepared this line before coming in today, and, oh boy, did it feel good to say it.
The head of station's face turned ugly. He had hoped to smooth things over without any drama. After
all, Yolanda was his daughter-in-law. But last night she had thrown a tantrum at home. It was as
horrible as a scene straight out of a bad reality TV show—although no one was filming.
But he had to please Agnes, though. Just yesterday, Jared had confirmed their relationship, admitting
her identity as his wife in front of everyone. If this mess wasn't handled right, they'd risk alienating the
Tim Group—and their ads were the bread and butter of the station's revenue.
Not to mention the promotional clip drama; if they lost those ads, they might as well close down the TV
station.
Yolanda was fuming. Agnes was way out of line. She had already swallowed her pride and apologized.
What more did she want?
If she wasn't worried Jared would actually sue, would she ever have apologized? This was the biggest
blow to her ego she'd ever had to endure, all thanks to Agnes.
The more Yolanda thought about it, the angrier she got. "Agnes, you better quit while you're ahead.
Don't push your luck."
Agnes smirked, "The thing is, I haven't seen anything resembling 'ahead.' Director, your apology lacked
any and all sincerity. So here's a thought—why don't you write me a 5,000-word reflection? Make it
heartfelt, make it respectful. And keep revising it until I'm satisfied. How about that?"
Agnes was clearly twisting the knife with Yolanda. But it wasn't for her own sake; it was for the hurt
Yolanda had caused Sharon. Agnes wanted Yolanda to apologize to Sharon, but she knew that even if
Yolanda did it under pressure, it wouldn't be genuine. Plus, bringing up the issue could just reignite the
scandal and hurt Sharon all over again.
Yolanda was fuming when she heard Agnes' suggestion, and she shouting, "You've got to be kidding!
Dream on about that reflection, Agnes."
"Director Yolanda, if that's your attitude, then you're free to resign. We don't need employees like you at
this station, let alone a News Department head," the head of station suddenly interjected with a stern Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
voice.
Yolanda was shocked. "What?" she blurted out, unable to believe he would side against her.
The head of station was in a tough spot, but he had to stand his ground. Protecting Yolanda at the cost
of losing a major client like the Tim Group just didn't make sense.
He continued, "Frankly, I don't think you're cut out to be the head of the News Department. Effective
immediately, Yolanda is suspended pending review, and Agnes will take over as the News Department
head." Yolanda was speechless. She never thought she'd lose to Agnes again.
Furious and feeling cornered, she ripped off her station badge, clinging to the last shred of her dignity.
"Fine, I don't need this job! I can make it anywhere."
As she stormed past Agnes, her words were laced with venom. "Don't get too comfortable, Agnes. Are
you and Jared really back together? Why hasn't he gone public? He's just intrigued for the moment.
Let's see how long you can lean on your big man."
