Heartstrings on Fire (Agnes and Jared)

Chapter 750

Chapter 750

The news struck Agnes like a bolt from the blue. She was well aware of what Ryder had given up to

join the Novy Medical Team.

His dream was to become one of the world's leading psychiatrists. And his resignation from St. Mary's

hospital was tantamount to leaving the Novy Medical Team.

In essence, it was like he was surrendering his medical ambitions.

Agnes immediately tried to call Ryder, but his phone was switched off.

As a last resort, Agnes sought out the hospital's director. The director seemed deeply upset about

Ryder's departure. Ryder was the face of the hospital, the youngest core member of the team. But his

departure was infamously resolute.

Everyone thought he must have suffered a significant setback.

Now, no one could reach him.

Finally, the director said, "As for Summer's condition, you don't need to worry. Even without Dr. Ryder,

the team will continue their research. We won't give up."

On her way home, Agnes was truly devastated. She knew Ryder must have suffered a huge blow to

give up everything like this.

By the fourth day, Agnes had returned to Willowbrook Town. She tried to get some news about Ryder,

but there was nothing.

First thing in the morning, Agnes informed Jared, and Jared looked up Ryder's whereabouts. Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

Ryder was currently at a resort in Mauritius.

Agnes finally breathed a sigh of relief. So Ryder was on vacation.

After all these years, he must be exhausted.

Agnes decided to have a good chat with Ryder when he returned.

In the following days, it was probably the most leisure time Agnes had had in years.

All day long, her activities were limited to eating and sleeping.

Over the years, she had been running around, writing news articles, conducting interviews, often

forgetting to eat or sleep.

Work had become a constant in her life. It seemed like she had never taken a break like this.

After a few days, Agnes finally felt rested.

Her lifestyle was rather disciplined.

She would sleep in until late morning, then leisurely stroll around the supermarket, prepare a few of her

signature dishes, and bring them to Jared's office to have lunch together.

In the afternoon, she would spend most of her time reading in the office, accompanying Jared at work.

By the time Nocturne woke up, Jared would usually be off work.

They would cook dinner together or find a cozy restaurant for a meal.

Sometimes they would go for a walk after dinner, or the three of them would go to the cinema to watch

a movie.

The simple happiness she had longed for seemed to have returned all at once.

Agnes had to admit, she really enjoyed this life.

Life seemed free of worries, and she felt relaxed and comfortable.

More than once, Agnes sincerely told Jared, "If only life could always be this easy."

Jared replied, "Then live like this, as long as you're happy, it's all good."

Agnes shook her head, "People who have been busy for a long time suddenly stop to appreciate the

scenery, it's a pleasure, but after a long time, you will feel empty, Jared, I still want to find a job."

Jared didn't object, because Jared knew Agnes' personality.

She didn't work for the money, but to make a difference.

Agnes, staying by his side, revolving around him, was something Jared really enjoyed.

Jared even hoped she could always be like this, but he knew it was impossible.

He wouldn't stop Agnes from chasing her dreams.

Agnes gave up her overseas career, her beloved journalism, for him.

Jared was already deeply moved.

So now, whatever Agnes wanted to do, he would support her unconditionally.
