Heartstrings on Fire (Agnes and Jared)

Chapter 712

Chapter 712

Agnes swung around only to see a dazzling bracelet glinting in Jared's hand.

The massive ruby sparkled under the moonlight, its red hue more hypnotic than ever.

So, Jared had indeed found it. He had been holding it all along while Agnes rummaged through his

pockets.

Could this be some cruel prank of his?

Agnes fumed, her temper flaring at the absurdity of the situation.

In a few strides, she reached him, her voice aggressive, "Jared, hand it over."

Jared chuckled, "Sure, here you go."

His smirk sent a wave of dread through Agnes.

And sure enough, before she could reach out to take the bracelet, Jared swung his arm and flung it into

the swimming pool.

"Jared!" Agnes was left speechless.

This man was infuriatingly insufferable.

Not only had he found her bracelet and refused to return it, but he also had the audacity to throw it

away.

His actions were utterly uncouth.

Jared's face was devoid of any trace of remorse, his voice colder, "Agnes, this is the price you pay for

scorning my feelings."

Agnes was at a loss for words. When had she scorned his feelings?

Was it because she rejected him, or was it because she didn't accept the ruby bracelet he gave her?

This man was becoming increasingly irrational.

Agnes was livid.

But the bracelet was a wedding gift for Phenix, and she couldn't afford to lose it.

Even if Jared had flung it into the nearby Seine River, she would've dived in to retrieve it.

Jared hadn't expected Agnes to jump into the pool.

He thought, "It was just a small bracelet. Did it mean so much to her?"

Despite the chilly weather, Agnes was dressed in a thin evening gown.

The outdoor pool was deep and vast, and the night, dimly lit.

Agnes diving into the pool attracted the attention of many bystanders.

Many of them, glasses in hand, came over to watch the spectacle.

Some even pointed at Agnes' fiery figure in the water, exclaiming, "Isn't she the legendary mermaid?"

Jared stood frozen, his fingers clenched.

He didn't believe Agnes could find the bracelet under these conditions.

He remembered Agnes' mediocre swimming skills.

Time ticked away.

Against all odds, Agnes found the bracelet soon after diving in.

The ruby, reflecting the moonlight, was hard to miss.

Over the years, Agnes had honed her swimming skills. This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

Mainly due to an incident during an interview in the Philippines, where an unexpected storm had swept

her into the sea.

She nearly drowned but was saved by a colleague who was an excellent swimmer.

Since then, she had taken swimming lessons from him.

Agnes could've emerged from the water after retrieving the bracelet, but her anger at being made a fool

of wasn't quelled.

A mischievous thought crossed her mind.

Suddenly, she kicked hard against the water and slowly sank to the bottom.

The spectators sensed something was wrong and became restless.

Jared, although not standing with the crowd, had his attention fixed on the pool.

Realizing something was wrong, he rushed towards the pool.

All he saw was Agnes, her eyes closed, sinking to the bottom of the pool.

Without a second thought, he leapt into the water.
