Chapter 1447
After dinner, Jackson offered Fiona a lift back home. When they got to the apartment, Mikey was lounging in a chair by the door, looking completely relaxed and unaware of their arrival. "Yeah, yeah, just chuck it in the car; there's still space in the trunk for more."
He had his sunglasses on, reclining comfortably, not even noticing Fiona's approach.
Fiona frowned, glanced into the apartment where Tyler was busily moving things, and then back at Mikey. She gave him a playful kick, "I told you to help with the move, not to sit around like you're on vacation."
Mikey, caught off guard by the kick, nearly toppled over with the chair. Just as he was about to complain, he heard Fiona's voice and quickly put on a grin, chuckling, "Hey, hey, boss! You're back. I was just, you know, letting Tyler get some practice in independence." "Oh, really?"noveldrama
Fiona looked at him with no expression, "So this is your version of teaching independence? Fine, let's see how you handle some 'independence' yourself one day."
Mikey's smile dropped immediately as Tyler emerged, arms full of bags and boxes. Mikey rushed over to help.
"No worries, I got it," Tyler insisted, shaking his head.
"No, no, you shouldn't!"
"I can manage."
"If I say you can't, then you can't!" Mikey grabbed the bags from him and zipped over to the car.
"Ms. Fiona."
Tyler greeted Fiona with a polite nod and bow, very courteous.
Fiona felt a headache coming on, "Is everything moved?"
"Pretty much," Tyler replied.
"Alright," Fiona nodded, "If you need anything, just ask Mikey. If it's something major, you can come to me. You'll start at Westbrook High School tomorrow." "Fiona, want some water?"
While Fiona was giving Tyler instructions, Jackson suddenly handed her an open bottle of water. Fiona gave him a curious look. He usually called her "little sis," so this sudden familiarity was odd. But she shrugged it off. Despite her sharp tongue, she was still young and didn't grasp everything. She took the bottle and took a big sip.
Jackson cast a subtle glance at Tyler. Once she finished, he took the bottle back and screwed the cap on.
Tyler watched their close interaction, his eyebrows knitting slightly.
Were they...
In that kind of relationship?
But Ms. Fiona was still quite young.
And this guy seemed much older.
Was Ms. Fiona being misled...
"Let me introduce him; this is Jackson, and the apartment you're moving into is his," Fiona said, noticing
Tyler's look at Oline!
Jackson...

Tyler made a mental note to check him out later, just to make sure he wasn't some sort of troublemaker. As for the rent, he'd pay it all back once he started earning.
"Boss! Enough chit-chat! I'm beat!"
Mikey, after lugging a heavy bag into the trunk, was panting, "I'll just drop Tyler off at the apartment."
If he'd known they'd be moving
today, he wouldn't have bought so much stuff for Tyler yesterday. He was making his own life difficult!
"Alright then, Ms. Fiona, I'll be off," Tyler said, glancing at Jackson again before heading out with his luggage. Fiona was feeling a bit worn out. It was just a move; they could handle it without her tagging along.
"Hey, do you want to come in and chill for a bit?" Fiona asked Jackson, her voice lazy, her expression a bit tired.
What do you think?
