Flash Marriage Makes A Perfect Match

Chapter 73: No worries

Severo had been gone for a while and Allyce sat at the table for a long time without moving.

The table was still set with Severo’s food and there seemed to be a lingering smell of him in the air.

Allyce took out her phone and called Lucila: “Go out for a drink.

Lucila’s voice sounded breathless: “I’m on my period and I can’t drink”.

Allyce hung up the phone and took all the dishes from the table to Lucila’s house in an embrace.

She took the plates to the microwave to warm them up, then replaced them one by one on the table and handed Lucila a pair of chopsticks. “You haven’t eaten yet, have you?

“I knew Allyce was the best, I would come home from work and lie in bed and want to explode on the spot.”

Lucila happily picked up the chopsticks and began to eat.

When he was almost finished, Allyce asked him sardonically, “Was it good?

“Yeah, okay, which one, next time I’ll pack it too.” Lucila mumbled as she stuffed her mouth.

Allyce curved her lips into a smile: “Eat more, you’ll never get it again.

“What?” Lucila looked at her suspiciously, was it just a few plates? What was the point of that tone of voice?

Allyce explained aloud: “This is Severo’s kitchen.

“Pfft …”

Lucila spat out the water she had just put in her mouth: “Severo knows how to cook? And he cooks so well? Don’t scare me.

Allyce looked at her blankly.

“Is he the reason you got out of work today?” Lucila narrowed her eyes as her mind churned.

Allyce nodded, looking confused, not responding to Lucila’s words, and said to herself: “He asked me to give him an answer.

Lucila asked herself: “What answer?

Allyce gave her a look of self-understanding, which Lucila immediately understood within seconds.

“And what did you say?” Lucila looked at Allyce curiously, it always seemed to her that Allyce wouldn’t say yes to Severo so easily.

“I asked him to say something about what he approached me about in the first place, and he wouldn’t say ….”

“And then what?”

“So I told him to get a dog and forget about it”.

Lucila looked surprised: “…”.

The two remained relatively silent for a while, Lucila put down the wooden chopsticks and pointed in the direction of the door with a pained expression on her face. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.

“Get out of here, I don’t want to be friends with a pretentious bitch like you, such a rich and handsome gentleman in front of you and you tell someone to buy a dog! If I were Mr. Betances, I’d turn you straight into a dog.”

Allyce glared at this comment: “How dare you!

Lucila glared at her: “What he wouldn’t dare, if he wanted to cause trouble, the Delahoz family would be no match for him, let alone an ant like you.

Seeing that Allyce was silent, “What the hell do you mean by talking to me about this?”

Allyce explained to Lucila what Severo had asked her to do earlier to negotiate a contract with L. K.

Lucila listened and was silent for a while before saying, “Mr. Betances has a lot on his mind, no wonder he begs and turns people away on the one hand.

Allyce sniffed and immediately replied, “Where did I put …?”

“You know for yourself if you’ve been flirting with Mr. Betances.” said Lucila, poking Allyce in the spot on his chest.

……

In the evening, Allyce lay in bed tossing and turning, her mind racing with Lucila’s last words.

It wasn’t until later that night that she fell asleep.

After falling asleep, she had a dream in which Severo actually turned her into a dog.

He got out of bed to discover that it was already dawn.

He quickly got out of bed, washed up and left for the office without even having time for breakfast.

Just as he reached the office door, he met Senona.

Senona looked at her with a smile, “Allyce, what were you doing home yesterday? Grandpa was in the hospital, you didn’t know that, did you?”

Was Casimiro in hospital?

Allyce turned her head to Senona, her face expressionless: “Since Grandpa is in the hospital, what are you doing in the office if you’re not at the hospital doing your filial duty to him?

Senona’s eyes were slightly tense, but quickly returned to normal: “Grandpa was overworked and hospitalised, so of course I had to be at the hospital, working hard and helping him.

“Oh.”

Allyce gave her a sidelong glance, turned around and headed for the lift entrance.

Senona followed her and the two did not speak again.

Back in her office, Allyce unpacked her bag and stared at what Senona had just said.

What does it mean?

With Casimiro in hospital, there was no way the company would be left without someone to run the show.

Does this mean that Eric, who has been leading the division, is coming back?

If that was the case, the situation was not good.

If Casimiro stays in the company, Senona could keep control, but if her father, Eric, takes over the company, will Senona have nothing to lose?

Allyce’s mind was already alert.

Indeed, he had not been in his office long when Lucila knocked on the door: “The CEO of Delahoz is back and wants to see you now.

Lucila finished, with a slightly worried look on her face.

Allyce gave him a reassuring smile: “It’s OK.

That said, he got up and headed for Eric’s office.

He stood at the door and knocked twice, when he heard Eric’s voice from inside: “Come in”.

Allyce pushed open the door and saw Eric, who was leaning on his desk, reading a file.

“Allyce is here, come and sit down.” He put the papers in his hand and pointed to the chair opposite.

Allyce approached and did not let his guard down: “Just say what the CEO has to say, I have projects in the pipeline and a lot of things to prepare”.

“There’s really no rush with the work, my father had an old problem yesterday and was admitted to hospital, you know that right?”

Eric watched Allyce’s expression as she spoke.

Allyce still didn’t know what Eric had in mind and could only nod: “When I got here, I heard my cousin mention it.

Eric was pleased with Allyce’s optimistic look, before continuing with the words that followed.

“The company has a lot of work and Senona and I can’t walk away from it …”.

Senona wants the project with L. K. Group, so she asked Eric to help her.

Did Senona really believe that, after what the Delahoz family had done to her, she would give in to pressure from a so-called old man?

Allyce looked directly at Eric, with a mocking glint in her eye.

“Grandpa has always loved his cousin, I think it’s best that she looks after him, not that you don’t know my relationship with grandpa, he might get angry and aggravate his condition if he sees me.”

Allyce watched the expression on Eric’s face change little by little, he lowered his eyes slightly, lowered his eyebrows and said, “It’s hard for me to sign a contract with L. K, if I can do something sooner, Grandpa will be even happier when he sees it.”
