Chapter 517: The Shocking Truth
The grave of Stephen’s mother was located in a suburb.
It was far away, and it wasn’t an important festival that day, so there were just a few people.
When Ethan’s car entered the encirclement, Vincent showed up at the roadside.
The car window of dark color was rolled down, and Ethan’s handsome, serious profile appeared. “How’s the situation inside?”
Vincent replied with great respect, “Only Stephen’s car moved by here, and we’re all ready. Once you make an order, we’ll conduct our plan to catch him.”
Barbara, who sat on the rear seats, caught the back of Ethan’s seat all of a sudden. Ethan turned to comfort his mother. “Everything will be fine.”
Afterward, he looked at Vincent. “This is a rare chance, and we can’t let Stephen escape again, no matter what happens.”
The second Ethan finished his words; he felt Barbara squeezing his seat harder.
Barbara must be super nervous being in such a tense situation. In fact, even a new soldier who just joined the army would feel anxious to be involved in a task with a gun.
“Mother, you can stay in the car later,” Ethan said.
Barbara loosened her hand. “Sure.”
The car started again, and Barbara stared out of the car window along the way. After a long while, she asked Ethan, “If Stephen resists arrest, will you fire guns?”
“It’s possible.” Ethan looked ahead.
“Oh! Ethan, control yourself; there’s no need to expose your real identity,” Barbara reminded him and closed her mouth in shock; unexpected pain came across her heart.
He nodded and said, “I know, mother,”
“Take care of yourself, Kylie, and your children are waiting for you, son!”
“Yeah, I will because I need to tell her the truth after we seize Stephen,”
His Mom went silent. The car stopped at the gate of the graveyard. Ethan got off and walked to mid-mountain alone.
He examined his surroundings with a look, and his inner strength began to emerge. His wolf form was ready to come out, but he tried to control it as other police officers were present too, in the location,” Everything is normal,” he said to Vincent through a button on his chest.
However, he soon found something abnormal when he was only 300 meters away from their destination.
A cold wind blew over, mixed with a strong bloody smell.
Did Stephen really kill Adolph to comfort his dead mother?
Ethan frowned and sped up. Rows of tombstones flashed by, and a thin, tall figure showed.
“Stephen!” Ethan raised his voice.Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
It seemed Stephen already knew he would come. “They all ask me to treat your injuries, but you look fine,” Stephen said with an evil smile.
“It’s not important,” Ethan said in a cold tone, and his sight fell on a man and a woman kneeling before a tombstone.
Both Adolph’s and Agnes’s hands were tied behind them. Hearing Ethan’s voice, Adolph turned to look at him with surprise and regret on his face.
Agnes, instead, lowered her head in silence.
Ethan looked down and saw the flowing blood on the ground, which was coming out from Agnes’s body.
Ethan pinched the button on his chest and made an order. “Call the ambulance now!”
After that, he faced Stephen. “Let her go. What’s the condition?”
Although Ethan came here to rescue Adolph, he couldn’t stand aside seeing Agnes dying in his sight.
“There is no condition.” Stephen’s eyes were full of hatred. Seeing Ethan feeling confused, he pointed at a plate placed at the front of the tombstone. “She already returned my mother’s organ, and you can leave with her.”
As a doctor, Stephen was very sure that Agnes couldn’t stay alive now.
There was something covered in blood on the plate, and it took Ethan a long time to realize that Stephen had removed Agnes’s kidney when she was still conscious.
Suddenly, Agnes moved a little and said in a weak voice, “Adolph, t-thank you f-for keeping me company…”
“Agnes? Agnes!” “Hang on! The doctor is coming!” Adolph used his body to support Agnes, who was about to fall down. Agnes lost all of her energy, then sank down to the ground.
She felt comforted seeing Adolph’s anxious expression. “Tell Barbara, I-I’m s-sorry…”
“Agnes!” A sudden loud voice scared everyone.
Barbara dashed over and hugged Agnes in her arms. “Agnes, Agnes! We just meet each other. You can’t die.”
She pressed the hole where the blood flew out on Agnes’s body and burst into tears.
“Barbara, Barbara.” Agnes struggled to move near in vain, so Barbara approached her mouth at once. “Agnes, I’m listening.”
Agnes raised a smile, but blood flew out from the corners of her lips. “I-I schemed with old Mr. Parker that year against you. I-I fell in love with Adolph at first glance. I-I’m sorry…”
Barbara shook her head in floods of tears.
Agnes continued, “Please, d-don’t tell Adolph t-the truth. I-I’m b-begging you. I-I want to l-leave him a g-good impression on me.”
Barbara nodded with great force.
“Adolph…” Agnes’s head sank, and faced Adolph. Adolph moved over on his knees.
“Barbara is y-yours now. Please take-take…”
Before Agnes could finish that, she rounded her eyes and died.
“Agnes!” Barbara cried out loud over Agnes’s dead body.
“You’re a bastard!” Adolph swore at Stephen. “How could you remove Agnes’s kidney when she was still conscious? You’re so evil!”
When Barbara noticed the bloody scalpel in Stephen’s hand, she got angry.
She put Agnes down and walked to Stephen. “How dare you!” She slapped across Stephen’s face. To everyone’s astonishment, Stephen didn’t avoid it at all.
Stephen licked the blood at the corner of his lips, then snorted, “Mrs. Parker, I didn’t avoid it not because you’re Ethan’s mother, but because I have no grudge against you.”
Barbara’s eyes were ablaze with fury. She raised her hand, trying to slap Stephen again.
Unfortunately, Stephen caught her wrist this time. “You’re not qualified to slap me again.”
Ethan moved a step forward to help his mother out, but Barbara shook her hand to stop him.
“No one else is more qualified than me to slap your face in this world!” Barbara said with determination, which shocked everyone.
Stephen threw Barbara’s hand away. “You’re too old to be clear-headed.”
Barbara stumbled ahead, and Ethan supported her at once. “There is a scar at the sole of your foot, right?”
Stephen stiffened. “Did Adolph tell you that?” He couldn’t believe his ears.
Barbara shook her head with a smile. “I just met Adolph, and he didn’t have the time to tell me your secret. I know it because I’m the one who cut your sole with a scalpel!”
“Bullshits!” Stephen was displeased.
Ethan laid his hand on his mother’s shoulder and asked in a low voice, “Mother, what do you mean?”
Barbara glanced at Adolph, then, Ethan. “Ethan, didn’t you always ask me why our family’s genes of twins disappeared at your generation? Let me tell you right now. It doesn’t disappear because you and Stephen are twin brothers!”
