Chapter 1591 Give Me a Reason
Chapter 1591 Give Me a Reason
Asked by Nicole, Jacob didn’t know how to answer. His handsome face turned reddened.
Looking at him, Nicole said with a sneer, “Just divorce.”
“No! Mrs. Green, I won’t divorce her!”
Jacob suddenly became so nervous.
Nicole looked at him, thinking what Olivia had to bear for him. She said, “You said you won’t divorce
Olivia. Why did you hurt her so much? What has she done wrong? If you divorce and you are free,
nobody cares no matter what you’ll do with that Julissa Caldwell.”
“There’s nothing between Julissa and me! Mrs. Green, I swear!”
Judging from Jacob’s anxious tone, Nicole didn’t think that he was lying. However, she was quite
disappointed at what he had done.
“I’ll give you one week to consider.”
After finishing her words, Nicole turned away.
Jacob was about to stop her but was scared by her cold gaze.
Out of Louis Group, Nicole thought about Olivia’s sickness.
If it couldn’t be diagnosed by a doctor, what kind of sickness would it be?
Olivia looked quite smart, but Nicole felt sorry for her because of her personal life.
Nicole went to the filming set directly.
Since she knew that Nicole had come back, Olivia understood that she couldn’t possibly avoid Nicole.
When Phil saw Nicole waiting for Olivia while leaning against the door of her car, he was taken aback,
wondering if he should walk up to her. Olivia heaved a sigh and said, “You can leave now.”
“What about you...”
Phil was a bit worried.
Olivia said with a bitter smile, “I’ll be all right. Even if everyone in this world would harm me, she
wouldn’t.”
Phil was stunned.
He recalled what Nicole had said to him. She said she was the family of Olivia. Now he believed it.
Hence, he was completely relieved.
Olivia walked to Nicole, opened the door of her car, and said tiredly, “I still have an activity to attend
tomorrow morning. I can’t drink but a cup of tea would do.”
“There’s a tea house nearby. Let’s go there,” said Nicole.
Of course, Olivia couldn’t refuse.
She nodded, feeling exhausted.
Nicole cast a glance at the dark circles below her eyes and her spiritless face. If she hadn’t seen Olivia
in person, she wouldn’t believe that this woman in front of her was her bestie, Olivia.
Putting away her messy thoughts, Nicole drove Olivia to the tea house nearby.
She ordered a pot of tea and sat in a private box with Olivia. Then she started making tea.
Under the steam, Olivia watched Nicole’s skillful movements as if they had gone back to the past. She
felt that her broken heart was cured, warmth floating in her heart.
“Try it. It’s an excellent black tea, your favorite.”
Nicole passed her a cup of tea.
Olivia took it over and took a sip. It was warm and smelt good. Almost all her depression had been
cleaned by it.
“You always have a way to make me feel better.”
“It’s because we’re family.”
Nicole sat down in front of Olivia and poured herself a cup of tea.
In the good smell of tea, they both looked quite frustrated.
Olivia seemed not in a hurry to speak. She just sipped the tea in silence.
Nicole stared at her, wondering how long she hadn’t seen Olivia be so quiet.
She recalled hard. It seemed that when she first Olivia, Olivia was like this.
Olivia was different from others -- the sadder she was, the quieter she would be. Usually, she was
optimistic. Hence, Nicole could tell that she was deeply hurt this time.
“I heard you fell off the wire once.”
Nicole broke the silence first.
Olivia’s hands stiffened a bit.
Nicole hadn’t come back for a long time, but Olivia knew that she must have confirmed the news based
on the investigation before asking her. She wondered if Nicole rushed back for her matters.
Suddenly, Olivia felt the warmth in her heart and the soreness in her nose.
“I’m already a grownup. I can take care of myself. I heard you are quite busy over there. Why did you
suddenly come back alone? Isn’t Samuel worried?”
“So what if he’s worried? I’m worried about you.”
When Olivia heard Nicole’s answer, tears welled up in her eyes. However, she quickly hid it. Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
“Why are you worried about me?”
Olivia hurriedly raised her head and gulped down the tea, taking the chance to hold back her tears.
Nicole watched her, feeling extremely sorry for her.
“Why did you wrong yourself? Where is the overbearing Olivia I used to know? When Samuel and I had
misunderstandings, what did you say to me? You said I should treasure myself more and not be so
persistent on a man. What’s going on now? When it happened to you, you can’t walk the talk, can
you?”
“I used to be too childish.”
Olivia wasn’t so hysteric as she was when they first met. However, she made Nicole felt more
concerned.
“Olivia, even I could tell the wire incident was manipulated. Why didn’t you look into the matter? I heard
that you called Jacob when you were in the hospital, but Julissa Caldwell answered the call and didn’t
inform him. Why didn’t you tell him about it after that? Don’t you know the noisy baby gets candy?”
As soon as Nicole thought how aggrieved Olivia was, she wished she could kill Jacob.
However, Olivia was silent.
Nicole was so anxious.
“What do you think of Jacob now? Just give me an answer. I’ll help you vent your anger. But, Olivia, if
you don’t want to look into the matter, why should I be doing it? Even I want to avenge you, I can’t find
a decent reason. Do you understand?”
“I see.”
Finally, Olivia put down the teacup as if it weighed thousands of kilograms and wore her out.
She let out a bitter laugh. “Nicole, I know you are doing it for my good, but, could you please stop
looking into the matter?”
“Why? Give me a reason. I want to know why you are willing to be so aggrieved. You can’t tell me
because you love him. I don’t think you are a woman without any rock bottom and principle, Olivia!”
Nicole was pissed.
Looking at Olivia like this, she felt sorry for her as well as angry at her.
She grabbed Olivia’s wrist and said, stressing each syllable, “It’s not your fault as you can’t give birth.
It’s also not an excuse for you to bear the grievance. Jacob has known you can’t give birth since the
very beginning, but he made a promise when proposing to you. He failed to keep his promise and he
cheated on you. Why do you have to bear it? Who does he think he is to hurt the one I care about the
most? Just because he is Samuel’s good friend? I can divorce Samuel as long as you tell me. I’ll
definitely avenge you this time!”
Suddenly, Olivia couldn’t hold back her tears any longer. She hugged Nicole, her hot tears wetting
Nicole’s shoulder.
“Nicole, this matter has nothing to do with Samuel and you. Please don’t risk your marriage. Besides,
Jacob didn’t cheat on me!”
