Chapter 18
Chapter 18
“What… What are you going to do?” Gisele was on the floor, struggling to push Michael
away.
His eyes narrowed into a smile, and he started dragging her out by her ankles.
“Don’t you like to jump off buildings? Why don’t I send you to keep your unborn child company?”
Her heart sank.
On top of framing her for Collin’s death, Sierra was trying to make it look like she killed herself out of guilt? Were they trying to pin everything on her?
A wave of despair washed over her. There were quite a number of staff in the courtyard downstairs. If she really jumped down, it would cause problems for both Bernard and the Meyer family.
What a wicked scheme!
Gisele kicked Michael’s hand away and tried to escape.
He gritted his teeth from the pain and walked over menacingly.
He slapped her on the face and yelled, “You b*tch! I was being generous by letting you die in one piece. What else do you want?”
Gisele fell to the floor limply. Her ears rang from his strikes.
Michael tried to drag her outside by her legs again. He opened the door, only to be faced with Dorian.
In a split moment, his face turned pale. He instinctively tried to shut the door again, but Dorian was quicker.
He kicked the door open in one swift movement.
Michael was hit by the door and immediately fell to the floor. He spat out a m*uthful of blood and subsequently fell unconscious.
Dorian walked in and caught sight of the wounded Gisele. He promptly bent down to pick her up.
“S–Save me… I don’t want to die,” she mumbled incoherently before passing out.
His face darkened. He turned around and walked off with her in his arms. He went
downstairs and headed straight toward the parking lot.
Sierra was walking over with a bowl of medicine. Upon seeing his disappearing figure, she called after him hurriedly, “Try this, Don…”
He was marching off in a hurry. It didn’t look like he had heard her. He placed Gisele in the car and swiftly drove off.
Sierra clenched her fists subconsciously. A hint of anger flashed across her pretty face. If she wasn’t mistaken, that had been Gisele in Dorian’s arms.
Why had he gone upstairs?
Her eyes filled with fury at the thought of two perfect opportunities being ruined.
“Yo, you seem quite bothered by the fact that the married couple left together, Ms. McMillan.”
Bernard was holding an iced beer in one hand and a barbecued chicken wing in the other.
With a refined air around him, topped off with a handsome face and a toned body, he could be doing anything at all and still be the center of attention.
Sierra regained her usual composure and smiled sweetly. “Why so concerned, Mr. Murray?” She asked. “Do you like Gisele?”
“Yeah, I do!” He didn’t deny it.
He took a sip of his beer and narrowed his eyes slightly. He then laughed and said, “Who wouldn’t like a talented, beautiful woman with such a great personality?”
Then, he paused. A complicated expression flashed on his face.
“Of course, the Doge is blind to this. So, he’s an exception!” he added.
Doge?
A shocking realization dawned on Sierra. Was he referring to Dorian?
They were silent for a brief moment before a nurse’s cry sounded from upstairs.
“Someone died!” she yelled horrifically.
“What happened?” Bernard immediately left his beer and chicken wings before promptly striding inside.
He was then met with the nurse, who was slumped on the floor. Her legs had gone weak from shock.
Sierra turned her head away. A sly grin made its way onto her face. She had only succeeded halfway, but this was enough to send Gisele to the depths of hell.
Bernard ran upstairs. The room was filled with an overbearing smell of incense, Michael was lying on the ground. The corner of his m*uth and the floor were both stained with blood.
Bernard walked over to check if he was still breathing, and he was. However, when he walked over to check on Collin, his expression immediately soured.
Collin was dead.
The old man’s body was barely warm.
Bernard thought about how Gisele had been carried off by Dorlan. Something felt wrong.
Even though he knew that she was Dorlan’s wife, he had long known that Sierra was the one who got along with the latter.
Gisele looked as though she was nothing but a stranger.
“Call the cops! Don’t touch anything here. We’ll wait for the police to come over first,” he declared promptly.
The show’s director walked over with a knitted expression.
“Are we still shooting, Mr. Murray?” He asked.
Collin had been fine earlier in the day. How could he have just died out of nowhere? The situation was incredibly sketchy, no matter how one looked at it.
“Yes, we are! Not only do we need to document everything clearly, we need to get the surveillance footage out in the open as well.”
Bernard gave out the instructions in a low voice.
The room had multiple cameras at different angles for easy editing post–filming. If someone had tried to frame Gisele, all the footage would be evidence to prove her innocence!
Sierra rushed over in a hurry and started checking on Michael with a pale face.
“I’m a doctor,” she said. “Mr. Lourdes is in a horrible condition. We need to send him to the hospital first.”
No one dared to utter a word.
Bernard glanced at how phony she was and said coldly, “Since you’re a doctor, just tend to him here. We’ll send him to the hospital after the poli

scene.”
There were signs of a fight in the room. Even though Michael was unconscious, but he hadn’t sustained heavy injuries.
Bernard narrowed his eyes and stared at Sierra. Did she have something to do with this?

He patted her chools lightly and said, “Citsole, wake up.”
She looked as though she was asleep in his arms. The wounds from the lashes were still bleeding, and the smell of blood filled the entire backseat.
“No… D–Don’t hurt my baby.”
She slowly woke up in a daze. Before even opening her eyes, she instinctively tried to protect her baby, who was already long gone.
The baby was something she yearned for. For three years, she had endured countless hardships and gone through endless checkups, injections, and medication in order to conceive
But it was all gone now.
Dorian cradled her and said gently, “Don’t be afraid. No one will hurt you.”
In the dark of the night, Gisele opened her eyes dazedly. Being met with nothing but darkness made her extremely uncomfortable.
She tried to get up to move away from Dorian’s embrace.
“Don’t move!” He pressed her down.
Her eyes reddened, and she choked out the words. “Why did you save me?”
If he had gotten to her in time on the day of their third anniversary, would their baby still be alive now?
Dorian froze at her question. He furrowed his brows and looked at her with a solemn expression.
Her body ached, but she was surprisingly clear–headed. She reached out and held onto the
