Chapter 1774
When Karina stepped into the room, one of the men, his gaze hazy from drink, chuckled and said, "Well, so this is the beauty they sent over?"
Karina forced herself to stay calm and replied politely, "Good evening, gentlemen. Here's the drinks you ordered."
She began placing the drinks on the table one by one, hoping to finish quickly.
Before she could finish, another man grabbed her wrist and yanked her toward him. "Come, have a few drinks with us, sweetheart."
Karina's heart raced as she pulled her hand away with force. "Sir, I'm just here to deliver your drinks. I don't entertain guests."
The men burst into laughter. "What bar do you think you're in? There's no such thing as not entertaining here. Don't play coy, sweetheart. Sit with us, and you'll be rewarded handsomely." Fear surged through Karina as she instinctively stepped back, trying to maintain some distance. "I'm really just here for work," she said, her voice trembling. "Please respect me!"
But the men, emboldened by alcohol and their desires, ignored her pleas.
A burly man rose unsteadily to his feet, swaying as he advanced on her. "Don't play hard to get, little girl. Nobody leaves this room without giving us what we want."
Karina's back hit the wall, and her panic reached its peak. She closed her eyes in desperation, bracing for the worst.
Just then, the door to the private room burst open with a loud kick.noveldrama
The men turned in shock to see Wilfred standing at the doorway, his face a mask of fury. His cold gaze swept over the room, taking in the situation in an instant. Without hesitation, he strode forward and positioned himself protectively in front of Karina. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" he demanded, his voice low and dangerous.
The men hesitated for a moment before one of them, drunk and defiant, sneered. "Who the hell are you? Mind your own business. This is between us and the girl."
Wilfred let out a cold laugh. "Your business? Bullshit. Bullying someone under my protection makes it my business."
The man who seemed to be the
leader of the group looked Wilfred up and down, his expression turning disdainful. "Big words. Do you even know who I am? I'm a prominent figure in this city. You touch me, and you'll regret it."
Wilfred's eyes narrowed with contempt. "don't care who you think you are. To me, you're nothing but a spinėless thug throwing his weight around. Lay a finger on her, and I make sure you regret it for the rest of your life."
Without waiting for a response, Wilfred pulled out his phone and made a quick call, speaking briefly before hanging up.
Moments later, the bar manager
rushed in, his fawning smile freezing
the moment he saw Wilfred. He immediately bowed, his tone deferential and panicked. "Dr. Wilfred, what brings you here? This is all a big misunderstanding, I swear!"
The manager's mind reeled. "Karina knows Dr. Wilfred?! If I'd known that, I'd have never dared to pull this stunt."
Wilfred's gaze was icy as he addressed the manager. "A misunderstanding? This is how you run your bar? Letting customers harass your employees without consequence?"
Sweat poured down the manager's face as he wiped it nervously with a handkerchief. "Dr. Wilfred, I'll take care of it immediately. I swear, it won't happen again!"
Turning sharply, the manager barked at the men, "What are you still standing around for? Get out of here! Stop causing trouble!"
It was only then that the men realized they had messed with someone they shouldn't have. Their bravado deflated, and they hurried to stand up, ready to slink away in embarrassment. But Wilfred's cold voice stopped them in their tracks. "Wait. Apologize to her first."
What do you think?
