Chapter 110
Sydney POV.
Several works to be completed in the office today, but my mind wasn’t focused. The memories of the night in Hawaii kept replaying in my head. While the night was fun filled; from my perspective, I knew above everything that it had implications.
Regardless of the fact that Paxton may have dropped his unruly attitude towards me, I still can’t get over the fact that Jaxton would blow the roof off with his rage, when he hears of my sexual adventure with his brother.
The situation was complicated and one that I wish above everything never to happen. While filling up some of the loopholes, left in the documents, the telephone buzzed.
“Hello?”
“My office, now.” Paxton’s deep voice came through the other side.
My heart rate increased and anxiety crept through my skin, wondering what he would think of our adventures. None of us had been able to have a meaningful conversation about it and while it could mean nothing to him, it meant everything to me.
Staring at the inscription written on Paxton’s office, I realized that the last time I was hear, it was the same feeling of nervousness that filled my system; except in this case, it was even more personal.NôvelDrama.Org holds this content.
I stepped into the office, after knocking twice and found Paxton, fully concentrated on his laptop. Does he ever catch a break or something?
“Have a seat.” He said, not even taking a glance at me. Whatever he was doing, it was of uttermost importance.
While waiting for him to speak, I realized it would be the first time he had a spectacle on his face and in all honesty, it suits him.
Paxton closed his laptop and pulled off his glasses and his intimidating eyes came directly into mine. I couldn’t withstand his sight thus subconsciously looking down at my feet.
“Sometimes I wonder what I ever want as a man? Money? Power? Or Fame? It’s a question I thought I could answer, till one last option stepped into the mix…” He paused and i looked up at him. “.. Love? This last option happened to be a major set back in a man’s life and without a shadow of doubt, I once experienced it; so I thought it would be real.” He got up from his sit and meticulously walked over to the table, inches away from me.
“The night at Hawaii…” “Please, you don’t have to speak about that night. Anytime I think about it, I feel….” I paused for a moment, looking for the right words to use.
“What? What do you feel Sydney?” It was obvious curiosity was getting the best out of him.
“I feel strange. That’s the word to use, strange.” It was the right word to use. My intimacy with Paxton would have been easier, if it would have been regarded as a one night stand, but it wasn’t. The sex was too good to be considered that concept.
“Do you still think of it? I mean the night? Do you still reminisce over it?” Why the question popped out in this manner, was strange and there wasn’t any answer to give. “Because I still do. Sydney, while I admit that it’s been a long time I had sex, I have had my fair share with women, but with you it has been completely different.” His hands entwined with mine perfectly, giving me the perfect goosebumps.
“Sydney, for the first time in a long time, I am breaching my laid down principle because of you. Words would fail me to express my heartfelt desire to you. I…” He seemed to be contemplating on the appropriate words to use.
“I love you Sydney.” Those words left me completely speechless. It almost felt like being in a fantasy world; a world where I could shape out my own thoughts.
“Paxton I….” This would be the first time I was ever using his real name. “Paxton, your brother and I have a thing going..” This was the major obstacle. The situationship with Jaxton was not too strong and despite this, it didn’t mean I should go against it.
“I know. I understand Jaxton loves you and you most probably love him back. I just want you to know my heart desires.” He stands up and walks back to his chair. “And while things aren’t always the way it should be, I just want you to know that the night at Hawaii mean alot to me.” His eyes were my weak point.
It was obvious that he was letting his heart out and I would be damned not to admit that the feeling wasn’t just solely his. All the times I gained the job to work for this company, I have developed a sense of curiosity for Paxton. While Jaxton would always appear to be fun, adventurous and easy-going, it was Paxton’s cold shoulders that drew me even closer to him.
“It’s obvious you don’t have anything to say to my words. It’s alright, I am atleast satisfied for letting this burden out of my chest.” He pulled a file out and open his laptop; a gesture that indicated he was done speaking to me.
This was the time I needed, the time to show Paxton what my thoughts about him were and i wasn’t willing to hide them any longer.
“I wasn’t quiet Paxton, I didn’t know how to express myself. The first time I met you, I felt a pool and even though it wasn’t refined, it was still something. Paxton, my relationship with Jaxton wouldi stop me from saying what needs to be said..” I paused looking at him and in return, he was waiting for the sentence to be completed.
“I have feelings for you too Paxton.” That was it, the sentence I found so hard to say and in all honesty, the burden had been let out completely.
Paxton was about to make a remark, when the door opened harshly, revealing Jaxton with a stoic countenance. It was at this moment reality dawned on me.
I was in deep trouble.
