Chapter 44 I Need a Break
Chapter 44 I Need a Break
Mrs. Huo...
What on earth was he talking about?
Was he crazy?
Michael Huo's smile showed he was very satisfied with the horror and surprise in her eyes.
With a clicking sound, the door was opened with a key.
Linda Yun subconsciously reached out her hands and pushed them against the man's chest
violently.
Michael Huo grabbed her hands, and pressed them against his chest, "Are you being terrified?"
The bright eyes of Linda Yun became alarmed and bewildered at this moment. She
subconsciously looked at the doorway.
The door was opened!
The man stood up slowly.
Both the nurse and Mary Yun were stunned
"Mr...Mr. Huo, I didn't know you were here." Without knowing why, the nurse was dripping with cold
sweat.
Had the door of the ward locked by Mr. Huo himself?
The lips of Mary Yun trembled slightly. She looked at Michael Huo who stood beside Linda Yun's
bed with a faint smile on his face.
She should somehow feel a little flustered.
Why would they lock the door?
What had happened to them just now inside the ward?
The nurse realized the wierd atmosphere, so she immediately closed the door and left.
Linda Yun turned her face aside, and looked out of the window.
Her eyebrows were tightly twisted. She couldn't understand the man's behavior just now.
Indeed, she was setting him up.
The instant she returned to Yun's mansion, she didn't know whether Huo Tingzhen was there.
But she knew James Yun would never listen to her.
The man had always been egocentric,
while her open opposition would surely meet with torture.
Therefore, she was making a bet
on the question raised by Michael Huo on the islet.
Therefore, she sent him a message, "Will tigers eat their cubs?"
If he really wanted to know the answer, he would surely come to investigate.
But she was not completely sure.
Yet she was not so stupid as to really be beaten to death by James Yun.
If he hadn't come,
then, she could still manage to put out the raging fire in James Yun.
But, as a last resort...
She would not turn to it so easily!
"Ting...Tingchen..." Mary Yun was in a trance for seconds, and then she called out the name of her
beloved man with a trembling voice.
"You are here?" The man replied faintly. He walked over to the sofa, and then sat down.
Mary Yun slightly knitted her eyebrows, and she became a little cautious.
Then, she hastened to walk up to Linda Yun, and inquired with great concern, "Nian, how are you
doing?"
On hearing the voice, Linda Yun turned around and looked at her. She grinned, "I'm not going to
die!"
Mary Yun's smile was a little rigid, "Nian, Dad knows he is wrong. He regrets it. He says he
shouldn't have been so impulsive. Don't blame him..."
With it, he handed her a cellphone.
"Look, these messages are from Dad."
Linda Yun read the messages from her cellphone, and the corner of her mouth was upturned even
more.
"Go back and tell Dad I know he is doing these for my sake. I am not mad, nor will I be mad in the
future any more. After all, he is still my "father", isn't he?"
On seeing this, the corner of Mary Yun's mouth was slightly twitched. She became even more
furious on staring at Linda Yun who was so arrogant.
"Nian, tell me whatever you need. Dad is in poor health. It is not convenient for him to come at
such a late hour, either. Whatever you need, please go ahead and tell me!"
On seeing this, Linda Yun raised her eyebrows, "Really? I happen to feel a little hungry. Buy me
some congee, sister."
"What?" Mary Yun was dumbstruck, "Buy what?"
"I'm starving, and I want to have some congee." She looked at her with a bright smile.
Mary Yun twisted her eyebrows. She was just saying it for fun.
Would she really want her to buy it?
But Michael Huo was sitting on the sofa behind, so she daren't blow her top randomly.
"I'm a stranger to this place. Why not order some takeout food?" Mary Yun said while turning on
her cellphone.
Linda Yun didn't speak, nor did she refuse, leaving her to order.
Soon, Mary Yun ped her cellphone, "I've ordered some congee for you, it will be sent here soon."
On hearing it, she nodded. Presently, she looked at Mary Yun with a chuckle, "Thanks for coming
to visit me, sister. By the way, I'd like to thank my brother-in-law as well for sending me here. Well, I
need a break. You can go back now."
She didn't want to pay any attention to Mary Yun, nor did she want to talk to Michael Huo.
Mary Yun annoyed her.
Michael Huo scared her.
"Ah? You are sending us away now?" Mary Yun was a little surprised. She believed Linda Yun
must be up to some trick.
Linda Yun laughed,"Of course. Look, there's nothing wrong with me. Countrymen are sturdy. I can
be discharged from hospital tomorrow. Didn't you just order some food for me? Now you can go back. I
need a break!"
On seeing this, Mary Yun finally wore a smile that seemed to be saying, "Thank goodness, there is
still some sense left in you.
She turned around and looked at Michael Huo. She was immediately struck dumb.
He was sitting there with a calm look. But his eyes were as deep as an ocean of stars, and nobody
could see through what was on his mind now.
But it made others dare not interrupt him casually without reason.
Linda Yun didn't feel like paying attention to them. She lay down, and covered herself in quilts.
Such a posture of keeping herself out of the affair did strike a line for herself.
Michael Huo curved his lips and then stood up.
"I'll take you back." The man cuddled Mary Yun's shoulder at once, and took her outside.
The door was quietly closed.
Linda Yun lifted her quilt, and stuck out her tongue, "Scumbag!"
Then, she hastened to put on her shoes, and got off the bed.
She wanted to visit Kui. She wondered whether Kui had come to yet.
The messages Mary Yun showed her just now weren't about James Yun's apology at all.
They were his promises for her and the Fangs.
She wasn't hurt in vain.
"Tingchen..."
She walked out of the ward.
Without knowing why, she felt that even though his arms were around her, his hands still felt so
cold.
He had an aloofness all over him that kept people at a distance. NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.
"Well?" Michael Huo looked at her, and his eyes showed no changes in mood.
The corner of Mary Yun's mouth twitched slightly, and then she shook her head, "No..nothing..."
She might well be too tired and thinking too much.
If he had really been indifferent, he shouldn't have put her in his arms...
"Next Wednesday is my mums birthday; bring your 'whole family' to her birthday party, will you?"
The man stressed the words, whole family, and reminded her.
Mary Yun said hastily, "Right, look, how busy I was during these days. I have almost forgotten
aunties birthday. Don't worry. I'll surely give her a surprise."
This was not the first time she celebrated Qu Zhirong's birthday during these years.
She understood Mrs. Qu's preferences.
It was just Linda Yun's visit made her almost have forgetten about this important thing.
I'll ask my driver to take you back, and I still have some business to attend to. Michael Huo said
while waving his hand, asking the driver to take her back.
"What are you going to do?" Mary Yun asked subconsciously.
The man's black eyes fell on her coolly. He didn't say anything.
Such a look made Mary Yun miss a heartbeat. She shouldn't have inquired him arbitrarily.
"I...I'm just worried about you. Well, it's late now, and you should go back and have a rest as soon
as possible." She lowered her head and said. She didn't dare to speak any more, and got in the car.
The driver's car had no sooner left than Joe Guo called.
"Mr. Huo, there is a traffic jam here; we'll arrive in five minutes."
"OK." The man hung up his cellphone and lit a cigarette.
"Ah..." Abruptly, a familiar voice came.
Michael Huo turned around and saw a familiar figure. He seemed to have bumped into others.
"S..s..sorry!" Linda Yun hastened to apologize.
Kui's hospital was just two stops away from the one she was in. She wanted to walk over there.
She hadn't expected to bump into anybody just now because she was in such a hurry.
"Hey, aren't you Mary Yun?" The bumped ones were a young couple who loved surfing online and
gossiping.
Linda Yun was stunned, Mary Yun?
"Are you Mary Yun, or that... that Linda Yun?" The young couple frowned and inquired.
"I...I'm..."
"Didn't you just say you needed a break?"
The breath that was close at hand suddenly spurted around her ears.
Linda Yun was so scared that she trembled. She looked at him immediately.
She was dumbfounded presently.
"You, y..you ...aren't you gone?"
Her utterance started to tremble as well.
"Hey, it's Huo...Huo...Michael Huo!" The other girl shrieked.
Her shriek had naturally attracted a lot of people.
"Right, that is Michael Huo, and that is her fiancee!"
All youngsters knew them, and some even started to take photos of them with their cellphones.
Linda Yun reflexively covered herself with her hands.
Fiancee?
They must be kidding.
It had nothing to do with her!
But there were more and more people crowded around her.
"Mr. Huo, I'm a reporter with New Media Company, I would like to know why you are here in the
hospital with your fiancee? Is she pregnant?"
A reporter who had happened to leave the hospital came to report as soon as he saw them.
Linda Yun was struck dumb by this question, and she couldn't help ping her hands.
Wh..what kind of question was this?
"Right, Mr. Huo, why are you both in the hospital? Your fiancee is wearing a hospital gown, is she
ill? Another media also came here after getting the information with the fastest speed. "
Michael Huo remained expressionless in front of those gossiping entertainment reporters.
Excuse me. Ms. Yun, what's wrong with you? The reporters moved their loudspeakers to her
seeing that Michael Huo didn't respond.
Linda Yun frowned and sounded unpleasant, "I'm not Yun..." Before she could finish, she paused.
She couldn't admit that.
Or else, everybody would focus on the reason why she was with Michael Huo!
Then, she would be notorious tomorrow.
Of course, her fame was not that good right now.
But she knew James Yun would be mad.
He had just promised the Fang's a facade house in an excellent area, ensuring him that his
income would be increased and not decreased. Besides, he would like to undertake all the losses of
the Fang's these days.
If she admitted it now, it would only be bad for the Fangs.
In a short moment, a thousand thoughts turned over in her little brain.
She turned aside and gave Michael Huo a hard look, wasn't he supposed to be gone?
Besides, where was Mary Yun?
That woman, like a chewing gum, wanted to be stuck to him 24 hours a day, didn't she?
Why would she leave in advance?
The man kept silent, and took a commanding view at her changeable little face.
Without reason, his originally fretfulness became happiness at once.
"Mary Yun..." The reporters called out her name once again.
"I'm sorry, but I guess there are some misunderstandings here. I was on holiday in Ocean City
these days, and I was not well adapted to the climate there. You see? I started to suffer from diarrhoea
as soon as I came back, and that's why I'm here at the hospital. She smiled tactfully, and looked quite
decent."
"So that explains it. Mary Yun, have you considered your wedding date now that you have been
engaged to Mr. Huo?"
Linda Yun twisted her brows, how could she know when they would get married?
Therefore, she smiled faintly, and then gazed at Michael Huo 'affectionately', "Surely, marital affairs
depend on him, I guess, it is not convenient to tell you now. Well tell you as soon as we have further
information!"
She knew that the reporters reports would soon become headlines.
She had to answer prudently, for fear of being capitalized on by Yun Zihong.
Therefore, this answer should be correct!
"When do you want to get married?" The man curved up his lips unconsciously. He suddenly
approached her and inquired.
"Well?" Linda Yun looked at him dumbfoundedly. What did that mean?
"Step aside, step aside!" Joe Guo hastened to come over and pushed the crowd aside. He acted
as a shield of Michael Huo, "Mr. Huo!"
"Mr. Huo, are you saying that as long as Mary Yun agrees, youll soon get married?" The reporters
soon questioned closely.
"Hah, what do you think, well?" His dull and hoarse voice was beguiling people with ambiguity. It
could touch womens heart. A low chuckle brimmed over from his lips.
The last syllable hit on the women around, so that their hearts and livers were trembling.
However, Linda Yun hadn't been beguiled by him. On the contrary, she was on alert.
What on earth did he want to do?
What are you thinking about? He smiled, suddenly bent over and approached her ears, This game
was started by you. It shouldn't be that difficult to end it.
As Joe Guo was there, nobody heard what he was murmuring about.
But to everybody, it should be something sweet.
They even conceived a lot of romantic words on their mind.
Linda Yun's eyes became cold. She reached out her hands and grabbed at his expensive shirt,
pulling it to her. She also lowered her voice, "You'd better leave now, or else, if our plan is given out,
neither of us will end up well!"
The relationship between a girl and her brother-in-law turned out to be so ambiguous.
Tomorrow's headline would surely make them the objects of everybodys curse.
"If you can't wind it up well, you can't stay in Austral City tomorrow. As for me... Hah!"
A faint laughter was enough to prove his position and rights. Who dared to scold him?
Linda Yun loosened his shirt in surprise. She could see that the man's eyes were so dark as to be
bottomless, as if someone had sprayed ink in them.
So dirty!
So shameless!
So damned brazen!
But everything he said was truth.
Indeed, she would be the only one cursed.
She took a deep breath, and smiled. Then, she feigned to lean against him, I'm plain tired. I need a
break...
Michael Huo squinted at her eyes, and laughed more happily.
She wanted to break up with him so soon?
But he hadn't had enough fun out of it!
"You are tired?" The man smiled lightly, But you just said you wanted to go out for a walk.
Linda Yun twisted her eyebrows, and looked at him in amazement. What did the man mean?
She was giving him a way out, why wouldn't he take it?
He watched her for two seconds in silence, and lifted his lips further as if smiling, "What did you
just call me? didn't I tell you to make yourself at home and call me Tingchen, eh?"
She bit her lips firmly, and then grabbed his arms. Her face was full of pain as if bearing disgrace
and a heavy burden, "Ting...Tingchen...I, I'm tired. I NEED A BREAK!"
