Chapter 2
Thank you.” The waiter first opened his mouth wide in surprise, and then smiled from ear to ear.
“Oh, I’m sorry.” When I was busy backing up, I seemed to bump into someone, and my hair was messy. I looked up at the hit person, and my eyes flashed a trace of surprise. It was the man running on the beach.
“Oh, I’m sorry.” After he righted me, his face didn’t look embarrassed after hitting someone, but he smiled at me again. His smile is contagious.
“Hi.” I did not change my face and prepared to go out, but he greeted me first.
“Hi.” I nodded and then walked out of the door. When I was out, I realized that I was holding my breath, so I let it out. “What a day.” I thought out loud then got the dogs to go back to their owner.
“Hey, what have you got there bud?” I asked the other dog when we were about to head out. He is sniffing something on the ground and would not let me pull him so I checked it out.
When I looked at the ground where he was sniffing, I saw a wallet lying there. It was a normal wallet, a leather one. So I pick it up and open it to know whether or not it is someone’s wallet or it is already a garbage.
When I fully opened it, I saw a picture, an idea and a couple of dollars inside. It looked like the owner is a high school student since I can see his ID inside.
“Did you see it?”
I heard a voice of a boy who asked, not so far from us. When I looked around, I saw two boys looking like they were looking for something. The other one looked familiar so I checked the ID of the person in the wallet again. And sure enough, it was him.
After I returned the wallet, I wanted to walk more by the seaside but it seemed that the dogs had enough so we went back already.

When we went back, we were greeted by my aunt at the door.
“Hi Auntie, we are back.” I said as I handed her their leashes.
“Thank you for walking them.” She replied then smiled at me.
I said no problem then headed back to my room. I was walking back and remembered that I needed to refill my stocks of groceries at home so I decided to go to the supermarket.
After a while, I was already here so I took a cart and started my task. I really enjoy grocery shopping since I can see many different products that I haven’t seen before. I checked some needed items and also my wants then checked out.
“Hmm. Should I also buy more bread?” I thought out loud. When I asked that, I remembered the bread that I really wanted to buy. It is like a cake but it has custard and cream inside. There is also another flavor that I like from the many variants of flavors available, the cream cheese one. So I pick them up and headed to the cashier.

“I don’t know how to play tarot cards. Why?” In the afternoon, I called my two friends, Dylan and Elena, to play tarot cards with me, but Dylan couldn’t. The table is filled with snacks and drinks, and a good day begins with eating, drinking and having fun with friends.
“All right, just try it,” I said to Dylan, drinking the drink in my hand.
“Oh, this crazy old woman keeps showing up, samurai in shining armor.” Dylan dug out a samurai card.
“That’s mine.” I quickly swallowed the juice and went to get the samurai card in Dylan’s hand.Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
“No, no, no, what?”
“I saw this man twice today.” I shook my samurai card and told Elena excitedly that I met that man twice today.
“Which man?”
“Twice earlier, that should be a sign, right?” I said to Elena
“Yeah, a sign.” Elena blinked. Her eyes matched mine. She smiled then I smiled too. It was like there was a link between our minds.
“Yes, well, what did he say to you?” Dylan is curious about what I want to say next.
“I didn’t talk to him,” I told him, frowning and sipping juice.
“Oh, are you sure he saw you?” They smiled at each other, then there was no smile on their faces, or Dylan asked curiously how I didn’t speak when we met each other.
“Yes! I mean, I think so.”
“Well, honey, we’re a little worried about you, because you’ve become a little abnormal, and we think it’s because you are lacking in the relationship bureau.” The two of them said this to me seriously, but I really met the man twice by mistake, but we didn’t talk with each other. He said Hi to me and I said back but that was all. I don’t know if I will regret that but it’s already over so there is no use crying over spilled milk.
“Exactly,” Dylan said in line with Elena’s words, trying to show that I have really been out of my mind recently.
“Look, just because I haven’t had a relationship for a while, doesn’t mean I’m pathetic. I’m just looking for a cute guy, you know, kind of guy, strong, but… going out occasionally, and observing things in detail, and… you know, maybe just different from others.” I dreamed, I don’t understand what my two good friends said about me, but I still hope that sweet love can happen to me.
I am a hopeless romantic, you guessed it right. I want a love that is like what I read from the books. The one who could accept me as me and the one that I can spend the rest of my life with.
“Maybe he was made up for you.” Elena gestured to me. I bit my straw and laughed. Maybe that man really was a man made up for my empty heart for so many years.
“Oh, you made up for me.” Dylan said gently to Elena, while he ate a proper wave of dog food, and the three of us laughed.
“Oh, I’m sorry.” Dylan was a little embarrassed and became silent.
“Berthaire’s office, hi, Mrs. Reynolds.” It was another day at work, and I sat at the station and answered the phone. This is my other work. Answering phone calls for Dr. Berthaire and writing down appointments. So basically, I am kinda like her secretary or assistant.
“Go to my grandmother’s house and tell her that I will go back later. I still have work to do… Okay, can you wait a minute? See you at home.” The aunt at the oblique rear of the station is calling home. She is old and wearing reading glasses, and she is still busy. I listened to what she had to say. She will be late today, she said.
“You know what? You go, I can help you.” I let the aunt go first. I took her unfinished work and asked her to go home early.
“Thanks, Linda, you’re so nice.” She was so happy that she could get off work early. She then took the clothes hanging from the chair and went out.
“No problem.” I said then let out a smile. They were all nice so why wouldn’t I be nice to them too?
“Hi, George.” A middle-aged Mediterranean uncle, with puffy bags under his eyes and stooped waist, looked like he didn’t have a neck in his clothes. Yes, he was George.
“How are you, Linda?” He is holding a paper bag in his hand.
“Very well, what have you got?”
“The doctor told me to bring this from home.” George said with his mouth wide open and his eyes round and pompous. He stiffly handed me a paper bag.
“Oh, okay, very good, the doctor will meet you soon.” I looked at the contents, and my heart was a little disgusted. As George walked out of the door, I quickly applied some hand sanitizer to my hands.
There are more patients that came today so I got a little busy. I was busy writing on the computer in front of me that I didn’t notice another one came in. I quickly apologized and asked for her appointment.
Lunch came and I didn’t notice the time until the doctor went out and said she was going to eat first. She invited me and since I was shy, I declined her saying I prepared for my lunch when in fact, I plan to go to the nearby shop and buy my food from there because I know that doctor will eat in her usual place.
After lunch, we became busy again. I sigh and proceed on my day. I wish this day would be much faster.
