CHAPTER ELEVEN
TINA
I had lots of questions, like how much my salary would be, because that was the most important of all, and I needed to know how much I would be paid after obeying the rules and regulations.
I could not afford to work for nothing.
“Sir, do you mind if I get to ask you another question?” I asked him with a hint of fear in my eyes and shaky hands because I didn’t want him to consider me irrelevant for asking too many questions.
“No, I don’t mind at all.”
“Just ask me anything you need to know, my time will soon be up here,” Mr. Aaron said as he smiled at me with a facial expression that indicated I was free to ask any question.
“Okay, please don’t mind my manners, but how much am I going to be paid for this post I am going to handle?” I asked him as I rubbed my hands together on my body.
“Yeah, actually I didn’t forget to tell you that, but it seems I forgot after all.”
“You will be paid the sum of $80, 000 per month for handling the post of secretary.” Mr. Aaron replied with a calm voice.
“$80, 000 dollars?” I asked, and he nodded.
Oh my God, I can’t believe this, that was huge, and I didn’t want to slap myself in the presence of Mr. Aaron right now.
Oh my God! Oh, my God This was so good, now poverty will run far away from me, in fact, poverty will flee from me.
“If you are thinking about the stress in it, then you don’t have to think about it because you will be fine.” I just told you that because this is the first time in almost two decades we are employing a secretary, our boss never wanted that, and we rejected all the application letters of those who applied for that post. I don’t know the reason he needs a secretary now, but I know you will be fine,” Mr. Aaron assured me.
But come to think of it, no secretary was employed here in almost 20 years, and I’m the first secretary allowed to work here-what a blessing in disguise!
“Okay, my time is up,” Mr. Aaron said as he looked at his wrist watch and sighed.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
“Now you have to go meet someone else, mmmm, the CEO demands to see you,” Mr. Aaron said, and I looked up at him.
“He demanded to see me.” Does that mean I am getting this job? “When will I be resuming?” I asked all these questions at once, and when I realized myself, I looked up at Mr. Aaron to see him smiling.
“Well, he demanded to see you, and whether you get the job depends on your decision and his decision as well. Actually, I’m not supposed to interview you, but the person who was supposed to do that went to an urgent meeting.”
“The managing director was in charge of your interview, but I had to take over, and I am the financial manager of this company,” Mr. Aaron explained to me.
Okay, I see. Mr. Aaron is the financial manager of the Seamus Group of Companies.
But what he accomplished by getting the job depends on my decision and the CEO’s decision.
I had a lot on my mind at that moment, but I had to let it go. Actually, I believe in the adage that says when I get to the bridge, I will cross it, so I had to wait, and I knew I would cross it.
I had a lot on my mind at that moment, but I had to let it go. Actually, I believe in the adage that says when I get to the bridge, I will cross it, so I had to wait, and I knew I would cross every bridge I came into contact with.
And I, alright, told myself that I was going home with this job no matter what, and I thank God that half of the work was done. I took the interview and was going to meet the CEO of the Seamus Group of Companies in a few minutes.

“Hey Luca, I heard that the CEO wants to employ a secretary,” Phillip asked. Phillip, a young 26-year-old man of average height with a stunted physique, was actually the computer engineer for the Seamus Group of Companies.
He seems to be jovial and also inquisitive.
“Yeah, I also heard that Luca took her to the financial manager’s office, it looks so fishy.” Zoey was still talking when Luca interrupted her.
Zoey is actually the assistant receptionist, and she loves to gossip. She is the youngest person working in the Seamus Group of Companies.
She is 23 years old and 4 feet, 5 inches tall, of which I say she is short and has a normal, good-looking shape.
“And why is it so fishy that both of you can’t mind your business here, especially you, Zoey?” Luca ranted out of anger. Of course, he had every right to be angry because this morning Zoey wasn’t available, and then he had to do her job as the assistant.
“Bro, calm down.” We are not quarreling here. “I am sure the reason we gathered here and this topic came up is to find out what was going on in our workplace at all,” Phillip explained, and certainly it was true because they actually wanted to know what was going on in their company.
“Exactly,” Zoey added.
“Okay, I am so sorry for being so rude a few minutes ago, it was not my intention, but let’s forget about it and continue with the conversation.” Luca apologized to them, and they smiled at him.
“So what is actually up with that young lady you took to the financial manager’s office?” Phillip asked with a facial expression on his face, saying, “I am ready to hear all you have to say.”
“Yeah, the young lady is applying for the post of secretary,” Luca said as he raised his face to look at the people he was talking to.
