Chapter 909
Chapter 909
In the conference room of Championus Media, Trevor was listening to the report. Holger looked at his phone and then whispered into Trevor's ear. "What did you just say?"
Trevor exclaimed in shock. The conference room quieted down immediately. The manager, who was presenting at the moment, had his mouth wide open in astonishment as his presentation was interrupted.
"Um? In the next quarter..."
As the manager was about to continue his sentence, his voice was drowned out by Holger. "I just got the news!"
Then, he handed over his phone.
Trevor looked at the phone. Not long after that, he slammed his fist on the table and stood up with a stern look. "Everyone, let's call it a day! Holger, let's go."
The two of them walked out of the room one after the other. The rest looked at each other in blank dismay. They were completely staggered.
Out of the company, Trevor gritted his teeth in anger and said, "D*mn Bryson! He's playing tricks on me. I've really underestimated him."
"It seems that Amelia may have been deceived by him. She might know nothing about this formula, or she just doesn't care about it! Perhaps she underwent cosmetic surgery because she was afraid that we would find out that she stole the valuable bracelet. It has nothing to do with the formula."
"So, we came all this way just to end up beating a dead horse? We were fooled by Bryson. He took the formula and my money but blamed everything on a missing woman."
Bryson has simply backed out from all this mess and got all the goods for himself. He had even dragged Trevor's feet so much. That d*mn b*stard! "Turns out you were right! If it wasn't for the fact that you made Elaine reveal the mark on her waist with the dress and spread the word, and if Bryson didn't blackmail Elaine, we might still be getting misled."
Clenching his teeth, Trevor was still in the midst of anger.
"No wonder I found nothing strange about her since the stakeout!" Trevor couldn't believe that he was fooled by that man. Bryson, how bold of him! They drove the car as fast as lightning. As they were still talking, they arrived at a resort villa at the foot of the mountain. After parking the car inside the warehouse of the resort, Trevor heard a man wailing in pain when he got out of the car. He followed the sound into the warehouse while telling his men to close the door.
Meanwhile, Bryson, who was dressed in trendy sportswear, curled up in a ball as he was beaten up and kicked by men surrounding him.
"Ouch... Don't hit me, don't hit me! I really don't know..."
"I have tried my best! When Amelia comes back, I will inform you at once!"
Bryson crawled and stumbled towards Trevor and Holger when he saw them, as if they were his saviors. "Mr. Clements, Holger, save me, please!"
"I've been struggling to do my job for such a long time! It's just that Amelia didn't contact me, and I don't know where she is."
Trevor looked down at Bryson and grinned. He crouched down, grabbed Bryson's long hair and uttered indifferently,
"Is that so? Then... you're useless to me now?"
Trevor gripped Bryson's hair even tighter as he finished his words. Bryson could no longer stand the pain on his scalp, and he replied quickly, "No, no! She is an orphan. No one else will be able to find her except me!"
"I'll ask you one last time. Where is the formula? You'd better think twice before you answer!"
"I... I really don't know! I've been
looking for her. I received some
et
news about her and I will know her location soon! But I need some money right now. Give me 100,000... No, 500,000 dollars. I promised she will definitely turn up in ten days... No, seven days, in seven days!"
Trevor shook off Bryson's hand and stepped on it, saying, "You really won't shed a tear until you see your death, will you? Don't you know who I am?"
"Ah!"
Bryson screeched and tried hard to struggle, but his hands and feet were held down by others. "Mr. Clements, please spare my life... I'm telling you the truth!"
Just as Bryson begged for mercy, one of the men got the signal from Trevor's eyes and passed him a knife.
Trevor crouched down again and continued in an eerie voice, "I heard that one's nose gets longer when they lie. Your nose seems to grow longer and longer!"
He played with the knife and then slowly placed it on the tip of Bryson's nose. The bone-chilling sensation on his skin scared Bryson to his wits that he cried out in tears.
"No, no! Mr. Clements, please spare my life. I'm telling the truth!"
As soon as he spoke, the sharp blade was stabbed into the back of his hand. His blood gushed out rapidly from the open wound and his hand was soaked in blood. In the meantime, Bryson roared in extreme pain.
"Ah!"
"This is the price you have to pay for lying to me!"
Trevor threw the knife in front of him and tossed a few photos in his face.
"Do you think I don't know who Elaine is? Well, well, Bryson, you're really a man who would die for wealth. How dare you covet my money, huh? Who do you think you are? Believe it or not, your life isn't even worth more than 500,000 dollars! Hand out the formula and I'll forget what you've done to me. Otherwise..."
Trevor's gaze flickered over Bryson's legs, arms and then eventually stopped at his loin. He was giving a warning to Bryson.
The photos showed Bryson meeting with Elaine and blackmailing her for money. Seeing those photos, Bryson trembled with a palsy of fright.
"I know I was wrong! Mr. Clements, please forgive me... I sold that piece of paper to a stranger. I really don't have the formula with me anymore!" "Stop with your lies!" Trevor raised his foot and stomped on the bloody hand again. "Trust me, I have a hundred ways to make your life a living hell!"
"I didn't lie about it! I lost my bet and
was hounded by loan sharks... Amelia and I just happened to take the bracelet away. We wanted to sell it for money at first but it turned out that the bracelet was a loot. It was basically a hot potato for us. As for the paper, Amelia actually brought the paper back in a fluster.
Somehow, she thought the pape
was important, but I didn't even understand what was written on it! I took the paper with me to the gambling site but a man who passed by saw it when it fell out of my pocket. He paid me a grand 100,000 dollars for the paper. Until then I finally realized how important the paper was. Later, I found out that it was some sort of formula and sold it for 500,000 dollars. The man gave me a full box of cash and warned me to keep my mouth shut, if not he would kill me... I knew nothing about him at all. He doesn't sound like a local. Also, he was wearing sunglasses when he paid me the cash. I couldn't see him clearly at night... I didn't lie about it!"
Trevor was about to explode in rage. He lifted his foot and kicked him hard twice. "You b*stard! What's the point of keeping you alive?"
"Actually, there is! I took a picture of the formula when I had it with me. It is on my phone now!"
He was planning to sell the photo of the formula later on, but he didn't expect that Trevor had found him one step ahead. Now, he was too scared to show others the picture again.Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
Holger searched through his mobile phone and the picture was found in the encrypted document at last.
