Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 282

Chapter 282

Mikayla stood up and walked aside, then picked up the call. “What do you mean by this, Jerome? Why are you on a business trip all of a sudden? Aren’t we supposed to get divorced today?”

Jerome’s voice was as indifferent as ever. “I have some emergencles.

“When will you come back?” she asked again.

“It depends on the situation. If everything goes well, I’ll be back in two weeks.”

“What! Two weeks?” Mikayla raised her voice in shock, drawing the attention of everyone at the neighboring tables. Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.

She swiftly lowered her voice. “Why is it taking so long? Are you delaying the divorce on purpose?”

Jerome was tired of hearing the word divorce. “Mikayla, I’ve been on a plane for more than ten hours and haven’t rested until I landed. Can’t you give me a break?”

Mikayla was also angry. “You’re the one who left without telling me! I couldn’t even find you! I’m the one who should get a break!”

He said in a bad tone, “Will you die because of a late divorce? In that case, how did you survive for more than a year? Besides, we can divorce at any time. Business is more important!”

What bullshit! She was about to retort when Taylor impatiently asked, “Have you finished talking? The food is getting cold!”

“Got it. I’ll be right away.”

Mikayla answered him while covering her phone. Just as she was about to hang up, she heard Jerome ask unpleasantly, “Where are you?”

She asked instead, “What does this have to do with you?”

“That sounded like Taylor. Are you going out with him again?”

Jerome’s voice was a little colder. “Mikayla, you’ve been so close to him lately. What do you want to do?”

When she heard his questioning tone, she sneered inwardly.

She deliberately provoked him. “Isn’t that obvious? Taylor’s background and appearance aren’t inferior to yours. After getting along with him, I realized that he isn’t that bad.

“So, I’ve decided to move on and start a relationship with him. You’d better come back soon and complete the divorce procedures! Don’t delay my happiness!”

Mikayla hung up the phone without giving Jerome a chance to respond.

That bastard wouldn’t be able to return home for two weeks. He was probably doing it on purpose.

Mikayla returned to the dining table and noticed it was loaded with dishes. Taylor didn’t eat first and was patiently waiting for her.

But his words sounded impatient. “I invited you to eat, but you kept talking on the phone. You’re almost

busier than the president.”

She was always wary of him. “Mr. Blue, are you just inviting me to a meal?”

“Otherwise?”

Taylor responded as he served Mikayla a bowl of soup. She was so frightened by his action that she quickly looked around, fearing that Irene would suddenly appear in front of her.

“Why are you reacting like this? It’s just basic etiquette.” He was unhappy.

Mikayla had known him for a long time. It seemed pointless for him to act as a gentleman.

Right then, Taylor’s phone rang as well. He glanced at the number and scowled slightly.

“Mr. President, why don’t you answer it?” Mikayla deliberately teased him.

He ignored her, reluctantly picked it up, and asked, “What’s the matter?”

She didn’t know what the other party had said, but Taylor looked even more impatient. “Why should I bel the one to entertain Grandpa’s friends? I’m busy eating.”

The other party must have issued him an order. He soon hung up the phone furiously and stood up from

his seat.

Mikayla said hurriedly. “If you have something to do, go ahead. I’m fine being here alone.”

Taylor responded, “Let’s go together.”

She quickly rejected him. “I’d better not go with you. There are many delicious dishes. It’ll be a waste if i don’t eat it. You can go alone. I’m still hungry.”

After hearing that, he didn’t insist on taking her along. He stood up and left.

Mikayla felt relieved when she saw Taylor walk away.
