CHAPTER TEN

Lewis’ unexpected action startled me. Yet, I did not stop him – at least that was what I tried to do. I

trusted him, and I knew that he would not do anything that would bring me harm. However, I could not

stay still when I felt something very cold dampened my skin. “Wha-!” I loudly exclaimed as I tried to

unsuccessfully retrieve my leg. “Be good, it will be over soon,” Lewis softly said as he held my leg in

place. I repeatedly blinked as I saw him putting frozen gel over the wounds on my leg. The cold gel

immediately penetrated my broken skin, immediately mending it, but in the process sent icy chills on

my bone.

I had always been very weak to cold. I closed my eyes and took sharp breaths every time I felt the

biting coldness that seeped through my inner body. Thankfully, after a few minutes, he was done with

his treatment. Lewis thoughtfully looked at my legs and gently rubbed it. The wounds that were

previously there were healed.

“Are you alright?” He asked me with a worried tone. ‘So many things happened… Leven forgot that I

had a couple of small wounds from that time when father smashed that cabinet,’ I thought to myself.

‘That gel is so miraculous. It’s very cold at first but it managed to instantly heal me.’ …. and it even

feels so good on my skin right now.’ “I’m alright,” I told Lewis. “Thank you. It feels… good right now,” I

added with amazement. “Good,” Lewis said before I felt a hand on top of my head. “You should get

more sleep,” he added before gently pushing me on the bed. Immediately, the dignified insignia was

back on my sight as I felt the softness of the bed at my back. I was in an unfamiliar place and despite

my ability to see the visions that represented the future, my path had become uncertain. Surprisingly, I

was very calm.. and comfortable. ‘Our future is now changing, isn’t it, Ylva?’ I gently asked my wolf who

hummed in reply. Suddenly, I felt a warm palm over my eyes, blocking my sight. “Sleep,” I heard Lewis

say. His voice was gentle, unknowingly giving reassurance to my anxious heart.

It was a pair of bright, silver eyes that greeted me when I opened my eyes once more. I blinked to

make sure that I was not seeing a vision. The bright eyes blinked back at me and stared at me with

disbelief.

A few seconds later, the unfamiliar girl in front of me exclaimed.

“Ahhh! You’re awake!” She loudly said before giving me a bright smile. “Good morning!” She spoke.

“Did you have a good sleep?” Her excitement caught me unprepared. I blankly stared at her for a few

moments, not knowing how to react. “Ahhh look at me… I’m rude, aren’t 1?” The girl added after she

realized that I was overwhelmed. “I was too excited and came here to see you right away!” She

chuckled. Slowly, my mind started to wake up. ‘That- that’s right. Last night… Lewis marked me, and I

slept in his territory.’ ‘But who could this girl be?’ I tilted my head to the side and gave the girl a curious

look. ‘I don’t think I’ve seen her in my visions before,’ I thought with furrowed brows. Suddenly, the girl

burst out a laughter before blurting out, “Gosh! You are so cute!” “No wonder you instantly moved the

heart of that block of ice!” She added before reaching over to slightly pinch my cheeks.

‘Block of ice… Lewis?’ I thought to myself. “That’s not-” I started to say but stopped. In this world, a

werewolf marks another because of two reasons. One, because the other was his fated mate. And the

second reason was when he fell in love with another and chose to be with that werewolf. Either way,

werewolves do not mark someone they were not fond of or in love with. Because giving your mark to

someone was something like giving a piece of your heart to her. ‘Except for Lewis… I guess,’ I thought

to myself. “This lady must be thinking that Lewis fell in love with me that’s why he marked me,’I thought

as I looked at her twinkling eyes. Surely, she was misunderstanding the nature of my relationship with

Lewis. Lewis and I did not have any romance between us. He marked me because of our deal. But – I

did not intend on saying that private matter to another… especially to someone whom I just met. So, I Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

stayed quiet as I let the lady intently stare into me “Aww you are blushing like crazy! Do you miss him?

Don’t worry, Lewis just had something important to do. He will be back soon!” The lady suddenly told

me.

‘I can’t directly deny that I don’t miss him… can I?’ I thought as my cheeks were starting to turn warmer.

Suddenly, I felt an unfamiliar connection in my mind. My eyes slightly widened in surprise. ‘Mind link…

is this a mind link?’ I was a werewolf. Yet, I have never experienced someone mind linking me before. I

was inevitably overly excited, like a young girl getting her new phone. ‘He-hello?’ I thought the moment

I accepted the connection.

It was very faint. But I thought I heard Lewis’ chuckle. ‘Seems like you are awake,’ I heard his voice

inside my mind… making me feel as if it was enveloping my whole body. ‘Like when he was hugging

me…’ I thought before I felt my cheeks turn warmer.

…yes. I’m awake,’ I answered Lewis who stayed silent for a couple of seconds. ‘Lewis?” I asked when I

had not heard from him, thinking that our connection was broken. Thankfully, Lewis answered right

away and told me, ‘Yes. When you’re ready, come over here for breakfast.’ … Lia,’ he called my

name… in the sweetest voice that I have ever heard.
