Chapter 128
Chapter 128
She was insatiable.
As the violinist at the edge of the western dining room switched to a new tune, the familiar strains of Tango of Intimacy filled the air.
Gwendolyn wasn’t a connoisseur of music, but she vividly remembered that piece from a college appreciation class. It was a famous tango that depicted the intricate dance of lovers entwined in an inescapable embrace.
Was she and Mr. Chadwick just a step apart?
Suddenly, a large shadow fell beside her. As she looked up, there stood Howard.
“Mr. Chadwick, why are you standing…”
“It’s fine, they won’t gossip.”
Howard took her hand and guided her to the floor–to–ceiling window, saying, “From this angle in the restaurant, you can see the Summit Corp skyscraper.”
Gwendolyn turned her head and her gaze slowly drifted across the river to the most prominent structure on the skyline, the Summit Corp building. Its towering form was adorned with an expansive glass curtain wall that typically flashed advertisements or time to awaken the city.
Then, the display changed with glowing red letters.
It read: “I Love You Three Thousand.”
Gwendolyn parted her lips slightly, and she turned to Howard, her face a mixture of surprise and wonder.
In an instant, her heartache dissolved into nothing.
“Mr. Chadwick, may I hug you?”
She threw herself boldly into Howard’s arms, wrapping her arms tightly around his waist.
“Dr. Gwen, that wasn’t a question but a statement,” he said, bobbing his Adam’s apple.
She cheekily rubbed her cheek against his chest and said, “I learned it from you.”
He suddenly looked down.
Their faces were close, his handsome and pale features exceptionally clear.
Gwendolyn instinctively looked up into his dark eyes, which shimmered with a shadowy depth.
He tentatively pressed his lips to the corner of her eye, his movements slow, his kiss

gentle yet landing on the tip of her nose.
“Gwen, the kick from the wine seems quite potent.”
He was lying! Gwendolyn thought in a daze, the Exotic Herbal Liquor had been finished two days ago. It couldn’t be that strong.
But as he spoke, his actions became more intense, capturing her lips and draining the oxygen from her lungs.
She found herself pressed against the floor–to–ceiling window, kissed fervently, just like in days past. Her mind felt slow, yet she remembered the crude jokes Valor used to say.
With high–rise windows with one–way glass, the more thrilling the better.
Could they be watched doing this? The thought made Gwendolyn even more nervous.
“Mr. Chadwick, this glass…”
“Two–way glass.”
Two–way glass meant whatever they did could be seen.
The revolving restaurant continued its slow rotation, exposing them to a 360–degree view. And then, the waitstaff in the restaurant…
Gwendolyn’s ears burned red with embarrassment. She had never done anything so daring.
“Mr. Chadwick… we could be seen.” NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.
“Let them watch.”
Sometimes Howard was uncompromising, especially in moments of intimacy. It was as if he had a radar for her consent.
Unable to refuse, Gwendolyn resignedly closed her eyes, surrendering to his will.
Yet, in her heart, she was elated. So elated.
“I Love You Three Thousand” was from a song, which she had heard.
That night, Summit Corp officially made its mark in Bayridge City, a special day in his life. The person he wished to have by his side was her.
Gwendolyn tiptoed, her inexperienced kiss landing on his neck, sending a shiver through his body.
