Alpha’s Predestined Bride

EPISODE 60 Alpha’s Responsibility

NEW YORK

Meagan was in the kitchen trying to clean up after cooking dinner. She settled down to eat, when her cellphone beeped. She reached for it and saw that it was a text message. She went ahead to unlock her cellphone and skim through her inbox. It was a message from an unsaved number.

Meagan clicked the screen to read the message only for the cup of water she had lifted to her mouth to drop on the table.

“Oh.. my goodness!” Meagan stood up quickly at the mess she just made. The cup has dropped into her meal and spilled water everywhere even on her body.

“Damn it!” She went in search of a napkin to clean up the mess and dropped the plates into the sink.

For some minutes, she stood there just staring at the cellphone on the table. She was shocked. She never expected to ever receive a text message from the alpha of moon stone pack. Her throat tightened as she took the phone again to read the message over again.

Why did he text her after all these weeks? She has been trying to forget about the alpha but it seemed impossible. Alpha Carl Damien has been on her mind since she walked away from the wedding hall.

Meagan was supposed to be happy the alpha texted right? A bright smile ought to graze her expression at the thought of him messaging her right? But tears clouded her vision as she read the message over and over again. This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

She pressed the keyboard to reply but soon kicked against it. Texting him back would only complicate things for her.

Five days has passed. More messages came from the alpha. He told her how he has been doing since she left. He sent her jokes that was meant to crack her up. He sent her funny stories an old Gamma in the pack has shared with him. He filled her in about his job at the pack. He dropped messages each day but never made an attempt to call her.

Meagan never responded to any of those text messages. His messages only piled up on WhatsApp and inbox but she never acknowledge them.

Alpha Carl Damien begged her to reply. For her to at least say something but no response came from her.

It was clear that Meagan was intentionally trying to push the alpha away. But his last message to message says that, “I am not giving up on you.”

She had read the message several times. And it only increased her fears. She wasn’t ready to accept what is to come. She was trying to avoid what destiny has in store for her at all cost.

MOON STONE PACK

“She hasn’t replied any of my text messages.” Alpha Carl said to Hazel.

“Not even one of them?” She arched her eyebrows.

“Not even hi or ok. She is just like a brick wall trying to shut me out of her life. Perhaps did I scare her away with my load of messages?” Alpha Carl Damien wondered.

“What’s your last message to her?” Hazel questioned.

“I texted her this morning saying that.. I won’t give up on her.” Alpha Carl answered.

Hazel rolled her eyes. “Did I send the wrong message?” Alpha Carl had a worried look on his face. “I followed your advice of not trying to call her. I sent jokes and funny stories. I tried to give her an assurance that I was around if she needed someone to confide in. I didn’t make the mistake of asking her to be my mate.” He rushed out his words.

Hazel let out a pouch sigh. “Meagan is scared of seeing you again. I know her fears and insecurities are lingering in the surface but I also have a feeling it is more than those things this time around.”

“So what are you thinking?” Alpha Carl asked.

“Well I remember Madison telling me that she once felt like she was dating the whole moon stone pack members.” Hazel answered.

“She said that to you? What does it mean?” Alpha Carl furrowed his eyebrows.

Hazel nodded. “Most times your private moments gets interrupted by calls, text message and handling files that deals with the efficient running of the pack.” She explained.

“This is my responsibility as the alpha of this pack.” Alpha Carl replied.

“Yes I know. Anyone that wants to be your mate needs to accept you as well as the pack. So do you think Meagan is ready for such life? Will she give up her normal life as a human and relocate to this pack? And remember her job is her life. Saving lives is her top most priority.” A sincere look crossed expression.

“Hazel, there has to be a way. I know it won’t be easy for Meagan but I still need to talk to her about it.” Alpha Carl was serious about his words.

“Alright. How about I call her and tell her the whole truth?” Hazel suggested.

“Do you think it’ll work out? Will it make things easy for me?” Alpha Carl demanded.

“We should give it a try.” Hazel replied with a shrug.

Alpha Carl Damien nodded his head in agreement to call Meagan.

NEW YORK

Meagan unlocked the door into her apartment and she flopped down on the couch feeling so tired. After some minutes clicked by, she felt her eyes closing to sleep off but was jolted up by the ringtone of her cellphone. And she confirmed that it was her best friend, Hazel.

Meagan sat up abruptly when she saw Hazel’s name on the phone screen. They haven’t talked since about a week now. After the last call, her mind was a bit relaxed that her best friend haven’t found out about what she did with the alpha.

But today she was feeling uncomfortable by the sudden call from her best friend. Usually Hazel would threaten her with a text messages first but this time there was none just a direct calls. It got really awkward as seconds passed by as she sat there just staring at the cellphone.

Meagan knew Hazel would be really mad at her not for sleeping with the alpha but for hiding things from her. They had made a promise never to lie to each other and keep secrets. Hazel really hated to be in the dark and to also find out the truth from someone else especially issues that concerns someone close to her.

Meagan contemplated if she should really ignore the call or answer it.
