Chapter 21
Chapter 21 Attending the Birthday Party
The next day, Layla Lewis, the assistant, came to find Leah as soon as Leah arrived at the office.
Layla said, "Miss Wilson, I sent you a message yesterday, but you haven't replied to me yet. Do you want to accept Worthington Group's invitation? They are urging me again now."
Thinking of the invitations she received from both Sharon and Quentin, Leah quirked up the corners of her lips, a trace of sarcasm flashing in her eyes.
"I want to go, of course. How can I not go when a big company like Worthington Group invites me?"
Layla nodded respectfully and said, "All right, Miss Wilson. I will reply to them right away."
Leah looked at Layla's leaving figure with a trace of appreciation in her eyes.
Layla was neat and honest in handling things, but the most important thing was her attitude toward Leah. She was respectful but still within a sense of proportion, which made Leah feel very comfortable. Leah would continue to observe Layla, and if she found Layla to be promising, she would enhance her training. There might be a possibility for Layla to become her most competent assistant in the future. Meanwhile, Eli had received the reply from Lia Jewellery and immediately told Quentin about it.
"Mr. Worthington, Lia Jewellery has accepted our invitation."
"Very good." Quentin narrowed his eyes, his tone carrying a hint of determination. "I must find Quintina this time."
Soon, it was Sharon's birthday.
The Foster family possessed a high status in Ocanni City. Added to the fact that Quentin was the one who shared the invitation, almost half of the people from the upper class in Ocanni City attended on this day.
With the screeching sound of the tires, the limited edition silver Bentley slowly stopped by the hotel's door.
The car door opened, and Quentin got out of the car.
As soon as that tall figure emerged, the gazes of the surrounding people were immediately drawn to him.
That handsomely defined face was
showing a hint of indifference as always. His eyes were as unfathomable as the sea, making his emotions impossible to detect, and he was exuding an aura that kept people at arm's length.
Even so, the girls closest to him still couldn't control the beating of their hearts upon seeing that impeccably handsome face.
One of the girls exclaimed, "Mr. Worthington is truly handsome. Any woman who can marry him will definitely be ecstatic."
The girl next to her sighed dreamily, "That's right. I think as long as I can see that face when I wake up every day, I will be very happy."
"Mr. Worthington's face is indeed so handsome that people can be woken up by its charm," said another girl excitedly.
Leah arrived right as Quentin had just gone inside.
Hearing the mutterings of those girls, she quirked up her lips and leisurely said, "How naive."
Layla, who was following her beside her, heard this and asked in confusion, "Mr. Worthington, what do you mean?"
Leah slightly raised an eyebrow and
glanced sideways at her. "I was

think that just looking at Quentin's
face will make them happy for the rest of their lives."
Once upon a time, she was as naive as they were.Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
But only after experiencing Quentin's cold attitude and that her mother-in-law always made things difficult for her did she understand that it was just wishful thinking on her part.
In short, whoever wanted to go to that hell known as the Worthington family could go as they pleased, but she would never let herself have anything to do with it again.
Layla nodded, looking slightly understood. She assented, "It's indeed too superficial to judge someone only by their looks."
Leah smiled and said, "Let's go inside."
"All right, Miss Wilson," Layla said and quickly followed her.
Leah entered the venue and saw Quentin surrounded by a bunch of people trying to get on his good side. She only watched him fleetingly before withdrawing her gaze and heading to the other side.
However, she just walked into the corridor when she saw someone walking toward her.
That person was none other than today's birthday girl, Sharon.
