Rosaria Gavyn had been anxious the past few days and was afraid that the thugs wouldn’t be able to stand the interrogation and would expose her. It was better to take the initiative.

Ever since she moved out of Rex’s house, she had returned to Gavyn’s Villa. Cassie Gavyn had always treated her as her own daughter, which pleased Rosaria Gavyn. When she was adopted by Cassie Gavyn, she had been told early that she would marry Rex in the future. What was more, she had always thought that she was a hundred times better than Wendy. Rosaria assented and the tears on her face fell but a faint smile appeared on her lips.

Cassie asked Wendy to see her alone and deliberately arrived nearly an hour late. By the time she arrived, Wendy was already a little tired.

“Wendy Walters.” Cassie hit the girl’s back with enough force to wake her up with a stinging pain.

When she saw Cassie, she immediately stood up. “Mom.”

Cassie didn’t even look at her. She sat down without a hint of a smile on her face.

Wendy didn’t know whether she should stand or sit. She didn’t know what to do and didn’t notice the displeasure in Cassie’s eyes at all.

“What are you standing there for? If Rex finds out, he’ll think that I abused his wife and child.”

Wendy felt as if she had been struck by lightning as her head buzzed. “Rosaria? Isn’t she…… isn’t she…… Rex’s younger sister?”

“Yes, she is, but Rosaria and Rex are not related by blood. What’s wrong? Didn’t Rex tell you? The Gavyn Family has already decided that she is Rex’s woman.”

Wendy came out of the cafe, and when she returned home, she was in a daze.

At the end of the day, she was just a joke.

Rex did not want to give up. He grabbed her again and used all his strength to straighten her body. His other hand was holding her chin. His eyes were so cold that they could chill people’s hearts. “Is this what you mean by ‘nothing’? Why are you crying if there’s nothing wrong?”

Wendy’s tears flowed down her cheeks like a broken string of pearls. Her heart trembled with her breathing.
