A Vengeful Girl

Chapter 243 A Deal With the Devil

Chapter 243 A Deal With the Devil

"Lady Qi, how can you be so sure about what you are saying?" Adam was giggling, reiterating the

same question.

"Of course, I'm very sure! My men dumped her in the river on a rainy day. With the high water level and

increased intensity of the waves, how could she possibly survive?"

"You tell me. Lady Qi, I handed her to you on a silver platter and now you are telling me that you aren't

sure where she is? That's not my problem, is it?"

Amy was exasperated by Adam's denial. His calmness infuriated her. Despite his crisp voice, it was

clear he was the devil reincarnation.

"Adam Huo, this is going too far. It was you who abducted Linda. I will tell Young Master Mu This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

everything."

Amy said, after a brief moment of silence.

Clearly, such a threat meant nothing to Adam.

Boiling with rage, Amy added, "She isn't Linda Xia, is she? The real Linda Xia is buried deep in the

river."

"Lady Qi, how can you be so sure about what you are saying?"

"Of course, I'm very sure! My men dumped her in the river on a rainy day. With the high water level and

increased intensity of the waves, how could she possibly survive?" The words rang through the phone,

like a dagger piercing Amy's heart.

Her pupils contracted violently and she cried heatedly, "Adam, did you record me?"

"Yes and why not? If Charles Mu received a copy of the recording, how would he fight back against

your Qi clan?"

Calm as he was, a chill run up her spine.

She could hardly imagine how Charles would react if the recording fell into his hands.

What she did know was that he would resort to implementing sanctions against the Qi clan, making it

impossible for them to secure a place in SH.

She took a deep breathe and held the phone tightly. "What do you want?"

"Simple! There was a deal between us. Don't you remember your promise to me?"

"What is it?"

"Well, you agreed to sign off half of Qi clan's property for Linda Xia. The deadline is in half a month,

remember?"

It struck her that because of her hatred for Linda, she had readily accepted Adam's terms. She blamed

Linda for taking everything away from her and causing her to struggle alone in Britain. Back then due to

hatred, she had lost her mind and made a deal without thinking.

Now, she realised that it had been a bad deal.

If her parents knew about what she had promised to do, the consequences would be severe.

"What are you talking about?" Amy was trying to think of a plan to get herself out of this hell hole she

had dug herself into. She decided to deny just as he had done.

If he planed to act shamelessly, then she would as well. She was too impulsive to consider the

consequences back then but now she regretted it.

She was upset with Adam because of that. She wanted to pretend like it never happened.

She would continue to investigate the fake Linda in private.

So she hung up, Leaving Adam wondering why she ended the conversation abruptly. Was it because of

rage due to the failed deal or fear?

In either case, as a century-old literary family, The Qi clan had a wealth of investments and capital

resources. As a result, Adam was surprised when Amy agreed with his crazy deal. He had planned to

keep Linda for himself but eventually gave her to Amy in return for a generous reward.

As for Lisa, Adam never mentioned that he was placing her within the Mu clan.

What happened next wasn't his business.

As the old saying, "Heaven will destroy those who don't look out for themselves." He didn't think he had

broken any rules.

After she hung up, Amy stood in front of the dressing mirror, shivering with the phone in her hands.

She was furious.

Adam was the mastermind but she couldn't find any evidence that it was him who had abducted Linda.

The fake one must have had links with Adam as well. Otherwise, she wouldn't have framed her.

Amy felt like whatever she was going to do, she was trapped, even if she had a small part to play in

what was happening. If she wasn't careful, she would be blamed for everything. And all that was

because of a momentary lapse in judgement, a few years ago.

Her phone buzzed, yanking her back to reality. A message from Adam.

'You only have half a month. If you transfer half of Qi clan's property by the deadline, I will ask Linda to

change the story about falling into the pond. If you don't, I will send the recording to Charles. The ball is

in your court.'

Looking at the message, she became annoyed. How would she transfer half the property?

She only had stakes to a third of the property assets.

She needed to seek her parents' consent to give away half of the property.

But once she told them the story, she would reveal everything that she had done.

In the end, she decided to keep the secret from them.

Holding the phone tightly in his hands and eyes glued on the message, she deleted it. Meanwhile,

another message came in.

It was from Sarah Shen.

She looked closer and read, "Welcome back, my dear. Let's hang out! I miss you!"

Hang out?

Amy was in no mood to hang out.

The message reeked of happiness and carefreeness, just like Sarah's personality, but Amy had a lot on

her mind.

As Amy locked the screen, she became furious and couldn't help but throw the phone on the floor.

The sound of the phone breaking apart attracted Bob and Amanda's attention.

Amanda got up from the sofa and ran towards Amy's room. She wanted to check whether her daughter

was okay.
