Chapter 57
Chapter 57
The ladies who caused a scene had been kicked out of the event, but nothing had happened to Sage, the person who had thrown wine on them.
Sage had wanted to leave, but both Luther and Yoselyn stopped her from leaving. Luther tried to cheer her up and said, “There, there, let’s not be upset about it now. During the auction later, let me know what items you want, and I’ll get all of them for you!
With his arm draped over Sage’s shoulders, Luther continued, “The next time something like this happens, would you please first inform me before taking matters into your own hands? What if you hurt yourself? How do you expect me to live with the fact that you had hurt yourself?”
The crowd was perplexed by the interaction between Sage and Luther.
The guests were trying to wrap their heads around the nature of Sage and Luther’s relationship. Some of the guests were aware that the Norahs and the Bennetts were on friendly terms with one another. They were, however, unaware of the finer details of the friendship between the two families.
After the “thrilling* incident, no one dared to speak or gossip about Sage anymore.
The crowd started to disperse. Staring at the intimate interaction between Luther and Sage, Jace’s eyes darkened.
In a low voice, he asked, “Are they blood-related?”
Clicking his tongue, Yoel replied, “I’m not sure. I don’t know much about Sage, but I heard that Luther is not Mrs.Bennett’s actual son, and no one knows who is Luther’s mother. Since they are not step- siblings, could it be that they simply have a really close relationship?”
Jace’s face hardened.
The thought of Luther and Sage being as close as they were in the absence of any blood ties infuriated Jace.
Timeless Magazine had invited quite a number of models for their runway show. The live music only heightened the lively atmosphere.
Several well-known celebrities had prepared performances as well. One of the debuted young idols had garnered plenty of attention with his good looks and melodic vocals. He had caused a group of young ladies to cheer and squeal in excitement.
Sage was sitting in the front row, observing the idol. Although her expression remained neutral, her eyes were bright, revealing that she had admired his talent.
Luther, who sat next to her, noticed her expression and said, “That’s Dean Sylas, one of Starship Entertainment’s artists. He was supposed to debut in a male idol group, but the group debut did not work out, so he debuted as a male actor instead and quickly gained fame after that.”
“He’s indeed good at dancing and singing. It’s a pity that he didn’t debut as an idol.” Sage commented.
Luther glanced at her and asked, “You like him? Do you want me to scout him?”
Shaking her head lightly, Sage said, “He’s at the peak of his career now, and you can’t be sure that he would be interested in joining Norah Entertainment. Besides, why would Starship Entertainment be willing to let go of their money-spinner?”
“Norah Entertainment is poorly managed by Zane. With the number of scandals and bad press, we need to rebuild its reputation. My third brother is working on it, so you don’t have to concern yourself
with it.” NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
Sage shook her head again. With a determined look in her eyes, she said, “Mother founded Norah Entertainment for the sake of our third brother but now it had become a hindrance to his acting career. This is not what my mother had wanted. I will not let this go o
n.”
Nodding his head, Luther said, “He must still be in the forest, as that’s where they are currently shooting, but I’m guessing that the shoot is almost over. We should have a get- with everyone after that.”
At the mention of her brothers, Sage’s face softened as she nodded.
Smiling, Luther patted Sage’s head softly while Sage glared at him with annoyance.
Sitting diagonally opposite from Sage, Jace witnessed the intimate exchange between Luther and her. Seeing how Sage was all smiles, Jace felt disgruntled and annoyed.
Her soft expression reminded him of the times when she used to behave around him. However, he had never seen her relax the
way it did around Luther.
What exactly was the relationship between Sage and Luther?
As the chief editor of Timeless Magazine, Yoselyn was invited to give a speech. Not only was she the leading icon of the fashion industry, but she also played an exemplary role in involving herself in charity.
Yoselyn kept her speech short. With a few words of appreciation, Yoselyn officiated the charity auction. All the profits from the auction would be donated to medical-related charities.
