A Promising Youth

Chapter 16 She Hates Robbers

Chapter 16 She Hates Robbers

After dinner, she knew I didn't have a place to stay, so she took me back home and arranged a

bedroom for me.

It was a little inappropriate to be a room with her, but wasn't it the life I wanted?

Clara was a very warm woman who loved to laugh and she was nice.

She was good to me and brought me fruit and melons.

When she went to take a shower, I leaned back on the couch in the living room and looked around. It

was my first time living in a building. I was both curious and excited.

But not long after, my phone rang, and it was Andrew calling again.

“Mr. Matteo, I hope that you will reconsider the previous conditions.”

This time his tone was no longer anxious, but instead carried some arrogance.

“Mr. Andrews, I won't sell it, so stop calling and harassing me, okay?”

I said with some impatience.

Instead, he smiled.

“Mr. Matteo, you are not the only one who can dye ‘General Grey’.

Now, we are talking to another person who holds this formula, so ......”

I shuddered involuntarily when I heard that!

My art teacher once said that he was indeed not the only one who held the formula. He had a brother

who was responsible for his imprisonment!

His brother was not only a gambling addict, but also obsessed with stocks. Half of the Stone Family's

fortune was spent by this brother. And then he got into debt and even thought of selling the formula of

the ‘General Grey’, so as to continue to gamble!

Because of this, Corey and his brother fell out. Unfortunate, his brother framed him into Corey. Corey

was childless and had not married, so the family property was taken away by his brother.

It was over ten years ago. Only hatred was between the brothers.

“Mr. Andrews, why are you calling me since you've found another seller?

You can just talk about it?” Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

“Heh, that man is asking for an inflated price and is arrogant. I don't like do business with that kind of

person.”

After a pause, he continued.

“Mr. Matteo, it will be beneficial to both of us if you sell me the formula now, otherwise by tomorrow,

neither of us will be able to get a good deal.”

I frowned slightly.

“Why is it?”

He sighed and said.

“Mr. Stone said that what you're holding is patented by the Stone Family and that you're a thief.

Tomorrow he'll go to your factory and take back your formula! When it really comes to that, not only will

you not get the money, but the formula will become exclusive to him. That man will ask for more, so it's

in both our interests to make a deal now.”

That bastard wanted to blackmail me?

“Who found you Mr. Stone?”

I asked in doubt.

“Carrie, she's not an ordinary woman. Tomorrow, she will frame your factory. She doesn't want to give

up this project to you.”

Andrew said smugly.

“What's it?”

I inquired.

He said.

“I can't tell you that, but if you're willing to sell the formula, it will be a different story.”

I didn't expect Carrie to be more difficult to deal with than I thought!

If the formula was not sold, we had no money. In case there was an accident tomorrow and the formula

was taken away by the Stone Family, not only would this project be lost, but Clara's factory would be

ruined.

If the formula was sold, although we had money, the right to use the dyeing technology did not belong

to us anymore. If we could not dye general grey, Carrie would take the project.

So no matter what, she wouldn't be at a disadvantage. This woman was not naive.

“Then tell Mr. Stone, he can come tomorrow. I worked out the formula myself, I'll see how he takes it

away!”

Squeezing the phone, I said indignantly.

“Mr. Matteo, don't be ridiculous. How can a young man in early 20s make out such a complicated

technique of dyeing cloth? Trade with me. Don’t you want money? Why can't you just sell it to me?”

“No reason, it's the backbone of being a man!”

After I said that, I hung up the phone.

Pinching my eyebrows, I leaned back on the sofa and thought hard about what was going to happen

tomorrow cannot go wrong, because it not only involved the ownership of the formula, the fate of the

Blue Butterfly Company, but also my identity!

If someone found out that I know Corey Stone, then my imprisonment would be known by Clara!

I was a man who just got out of prison and suddenly came to Clara and lived with her at home. What

would Clara think of me?

It was bad!

“What's on your mind? You are engrossed!”

Clara suddenly stood in front of me. She had had a shower. Her hair was dripping wet and wearing a

pink tulle nightgown.

“Nothing.”

I blushed and looked away. Her nightgown was so thin that I could see inside.

But she seemed to be used to it at home, so she sat down next to me casually, grabbed the remote

and said.

“Hey, do you want to watch TV? I'll watch for a while.”

“Ok!”

I know women loved to watch idol dramas. When I was in school, many girls discussed about it.

But she had found a programe named Rule of Law in Progress and was watching it with particular

fascination, and I asked in disbelief.

“Sis, you like to watch this, huh?”

She grabbed the peach, nibbled on it and said.

“Well, I watch it every day!”

Every day?

Why did she have this habit?

I asked in puzzle.

“Why?”

Aren’t you scared to watch it?”

“I watch it because I am scared!”

She swallowed the peach in her mouth, with her eyes dropping slightly, and added

“Matteo, my mother was killed by a robber, so I'm actually quite insecure.”

She pointed to the television. Several criminals had been arrested for robbery. She said,

“You know what? What I hate most in my life is robber. They should all be shot!”

My heart stuttered again. I must not let Clara know about my imprisonment for robbery back then!

“Sis, I'm sleepy and want to go to bed.”

Panicked, not being a good liar, I was especially afraid that she would see the flaw.

“No, I have a lot to tell you! Silly boy, tell me about your university, okay? And how did you get through

the last few years?”

She looked at me curiously, with her long lashes blinking.

How dare I tell her that I never went to college!

As soon as I said about it, it would immediately be revealed.

I got up and said.

“I'm really tired, let's talk tomorrow.”

After that I ran straight into the bedroom and locked the door behind me.

Because I was afraid, not only of being identified by her, but also of whether my brother's robbery had

anything to do with Clara's mother!
