Chapter 5
Cynthia looked at the towering Sullivan Group headquarters, and suddenly, an idea hit her. Rising from her seat, she left the cafe and marched directly towards the building.
“Hello, I’m here to see Mr. Liam Sullivan Cynthia declared as she approached the reception desk.
The young receptionist, who was admiring her nails, glanced at Cynthia and asked with indifference, “Do you have an appointment?” Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
“No. I don’t
Then sorry, miss, the receptionist responded without even looking up from her nails.
Cynthia, mustering all her patience, insisted, “Just tell him I’m a Larson, Trinth be told she wasn’t entirely sure that the man’s words still count, or if his intentions aligned with hers.
“Our CEO is very busy. He can’t just meet with anyone who comes along
With her unadorned face, simple ponytail, and casual attire, Cynthia looked several years younger. She didn’t budge, facing the increasingly impatient look on the receptionist’s face. A moment of regret flashed through her as she remembered discarding the business card she had been given.
“I think you’d better-
“Ms. Larson.”
A male voice suddenly sounded, interrupting the receptionist, whose demeanor shifted to a welcoming smile as she greeted, “Mr. Laurier Cynthia turned towards the source of the voice to see a stranger in a black suit, asking in confusion. “Do you know me!”
Zav forced a smile, embarrassed since he had been the one investigating her background the night before. “You’re here to see Mr. Sullivan! I’ll take you to his office.
Then he turned to instruct the still startled receptionist. In the future, when Ms. Larson comes to see the CEO, let her through immediately.” “Yes. Mr. Laurier, replied the receptionist hurriedly as she thought nervously, ‘Have I offended someone important?”
Ziv led Cynthia towards the executive elevator and left after she entered the CEO’s office, where Liam was engrossed in his work, head down, examining documents.
Cynthia sat on the sofa, watching him. She couldn’t help but acknowledge that she hadn’t really lost out last night. Liam was truly exceptional- untamed and dominant without his suit, and restrained and sophisticated with it. He had the looks to overshadow anyone in the entertainment industry, and Cynthia found herself entranced.
“Are you satisfied with what you see!” Liam’s crisp voice sounded.
Startled, Cynthia quickly turned her head, embarrassed, pretending to be interested in the view outside.
Liam removed his glasses, massaging the bridge of his nose, before casting a glance toward the girl on his sofa who looked underage with her simple getup. Had he not known her actual age and verified her maturity, he would never have slept with her.
“Come here,” he beckoned Cynthia over with a crook of his finger, resting his elbow on the desk.
Obediently; Cynthia moved and sat down in front of him. Liam’s lips curled into a pleased smirk. “Have you made up your mind?”
Cynthia steadied her racing heart before asking, “Why me? You could have thousands of women at your beck and call.
Liam coughed lightly, his gaze piercing as he replied, “If I had to give a reason, it would be that I quite enjoy the depth of our… interactions.
Her checks burning and eyes wide, Cynthia was taken aback by his forthrightness. They had only met for the second time-the interactions could only be what happened last night.
