Chapter 537: If I Really Can't Keep It, I'll Let Go
Chapter 537: If I Really Can't Keep It, I'll Let Go
"No, she didn't respond when I called her name just now."
"Madam went to bed early last night, didn't she?" The servant says doubtfully, "Madam usually goes
downstairs around eight o'clock."
Hearing her words, Chace feels that something's wrong.
Jessie doesn't love sleep usually, but why she didn't reply when he called her just now?
"She's pregnant. Maybe she doesn't feel well." Chace puts down the cup and stands up, "I'll go and
have a look at her."
"Kelsie, are you not feeling well?" Chace knocks on the door of the master bedroom.
"Kelsie?"
He's knocking so loudly on the door and even shouts a few times, but the person inside still doesn't
respond.
Chace looks sullen and opens the door.
After entering the bedroom, he sees Jessie lying on the bed with her brows knitted tightly, so he quickly
walks over and pats her cheek.
"Hey, Kelsie, are you alright?"
Only then does he realize that Jessie's silk pajama is drenched in sweat, and she's not right.
Chace doesn't dare to delay at all. He takes a coat, throws it on her, and carries her downstairs in a
hurry.
He says to the servant, "Something's wrong with her. I'll take her to the hospital right now. Tell my friend
about it later please."
The servant hurriedly nods, "Yes, sir. Call me if you need anything."
Right after Chace goes out with Jessie in his arms, Leigh, who has been in the next bedroom, wakes
up.
He sits up and rubs his aching temples, his head still hurting a little.
He looks around the bedroom and remembers that he has called Chace last night so he guesses that
he's now at Chace's.
"Damn it! How dare you let me sleep on the carpet!" Leigh can't believe that Chace has brought him
back and thrown him on the carpet! After all, he's been nice to Chace. Thinking about that, he can't
help but put on a gloomy face.
Leigh notices that his suit's wrinkled and smells bad, so he goes to the bathroom to take a bath, with
his eyebrows knitted.
He picks out some clothes randomly from the closet and puts them on.
When Leigh goes downstairs, he bumps into the servant. The servant says, "You must be Mr. Leon's
friend, right? Breakfast is ready. Please try and see whether you like it."
"Your Mandarin is pretty fluent." Leigh goes to the dining table and sits down. "Did Chace hire you for
that?"
The servant nods and replies, "Mr. Leon hired me to take care of madam because she doesn't speak
the local language well."
Leigh nods and suddenly realizes that Chace doesn't seem to be around at this moment.
"Where is Chace?" This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.
"Madam is not feeling well. Mr. Leon took her to the hospital. He asked me to take care of you."
There're a lot of dishes on the table for breakfast, including steamed buns and tofu.
Leigh praises the servant for her cooking.
The servant says it's madam who has taught her how to make tofu and it took her several days to learn
it.
Hearing the servant's words, Leigh raises his eyebrows slightly and asks, "When did you come here?
What does Chace's girlfriend look like? Is she beautiful?"
"I've been here to take care of madam for a long time." The servant sighs and replies, "She is pretty,
and has a good temper, but ... she can't see, and Mr. Leon seldom comes to visit her."
"I know they sleep in separate rooms, and Mr. Leon doesn't care much about madam. But since she
has problem with her eyes and is now pregnant, I think Mr. Leon should treat her better even for the
sake of the baby."
The servant also says to Leigh, "You and Mr. Leon are friends. Talk to him please."
Leigh has to clean up his own mess. How can he have time to care about Chace's business? What's
more, since Chace has put her here but rarely comes, it's obvious that he doesn't take their relationship
seriously. How can he change Leon's mind?
However, the servant has said so much and seems to pity that lady, Leigh can only give her a vague
promise.
After breakfast, Leigh is ready to leave.
He has stayed in Country Y for so long, but still can't find Jessie. It's useless to stay any longer. Also,
there're a lot of things to deal with in the company.
"Are you waiting for Mr. Leon to come back?"
"No, I've booked the flight ticket." Leigh goes to get his coat and says, "Just tell him later that I've left."
"Alright."
When Leigh is about to leave, he accidentally catches a glimpse of an oil painting on the wall.
There's a sunflower in the painting.
Leigh remembers that Jessie likes painting sunflowers.
When they quarreled that day, she almost burned all her sunflower paintings, and had been colder
since then.
He also lost the sunflower pendant that Jessie gave him somewhere.
Leigh's a little irritated. He walks a few steps but turns around and takes the painting off the wall with
him. After that, he transfers a sum of money to Chace's account for that.

Chace takes Jessie to the hospital.
After a check-up, the doctor says there's nothing serious. Jessie is just a little bit weak.
The doctor reminds him in an indirect way, "Sir, you and your wife look quite young. If you're not
anxious to have a child, you can wait for her to recover first. What do you think?"
Chace feels surprised. After understanding what the doctor means, he touches his nose awkwardly and
says, "Let me ask her first."
"Alright, I'll go back to my work then."
After Chace pays the fee, he returns to the ward and sees that Jessie is awake.
Unlike the doctor, Chace says in a direct way, "Jessie, the doctor just said that you are not in good
health and want you to get an abortion."
Jessie doesn't know how to react in a moment.
After a while, she touches her belly and whispers, "I eat well every day and there used to be a doctor
coming and checking on me. Why am I still so weak?"
Chace can see that she wants to keep the baby. He is puzzled, "Your boyfriend treated you like that.
You want to keep the baby? Do you ... still love him?"
Jessie doesn't reply but only turns to look out of the window.
After a long silence, Jessie says in a hoarse voice, "Let me try again. If I really can't keep it, I'll let go."
She has already lost two babies, but again, she is not blessed this time.
Seeing that Jessie is so sad, Chace doesn't say anything else. After Jessie feels better, he takes her
back.
The servant says to Chace, "Your friend left after breakfast. He asked me to tell you about that."
"I paid for his food and allowed him to sleep in my place. He didn't even say thank you to me!" Chace
mutters discontentedly. When he enters the room and sees the empty wall, he asks the servant,
"Where's the painting on the wall?"
"Do you mean the sunflower painted by madam? It seems that your friend took it away."
Chace is speechless.
How can Leigh be so shameless and even take something with him when he left!
Jessie purses her lips and smiles faintly, "It's just a painting. It's my honor that your friend likes it."
"But you've spent a lot of effort on that!" Chace strokes her head and decides not to mention this
anymore. "Have a good rest today and I'll take you to a picnic tomorrow."
Jessie is shocked, but she nods very soon.
When Chace finishes his work and turns on his phone, he finds that Leigh has transferred a large sum
of money to him.
He feels that his displeasure has disappeared instantly, "That's more like it!"
Chace uses part of the money to buy some clothes for Jessie, and saves the rest in a deposit card.
Then he gives the card to Jessie.
If something happens to her when he is not able to come to Country Y, she can still have this sum of
money.
In the next few days, Chace takes Jessie to a picnic, wandering around, and then takes her on a yacht,
hoping to cheer her up.
They have been traveling for several days, but don't know that they are being stalked.
After staying in country Y for a week, Chace gets a phone call from the company back home.
Chace asks the servant to take good care of Jessie and hurriedly comes back.
A day after he leaves, Jessie's phone rings. There're only Chace's and his mother's numbers in the
address book.
