Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 103
Chapter 103
Chapter 103 How Many Husbands Do You Have? “Forget it! I was just ranting a little, ” Luke said.
Joseph had taken the bait. “Which mall are you at? I’ll be right there,” Joseph said.
Luke sent him his location. Soon, Joseph arrived.
Luke continued to lan the flames. “Damien doesn’t like Clarissa at all. He wants her to look good so
that it makes him look good, but he’s too stingy to pay for it. He actually made her return all the clothes
they bought.” “Which ones did she return?”
Luke pointed them out.
“Wrap them up for me. Also, I want to get her a few more pieces…” An image of Clarissa’s figure
appeared in Joseph’s mind. He had pretty good taste, and the clothes he picked out for her were nice.
“Please have these delivered to her house. This is her address…” As he typed out Clarissa’s address,
he said, “I’ll pay you extra to have them delivered by tomorrow evening.”
“Sir, who should we say these are from?” The store clerk was delighted at having closed such a huge
deal. Joseph had spent more than 300,000 dollars in one go.
He frowned. “Just say that… they’re from her husband.”
Joseph wanted to humiliate Damien. He wanted Clarissa to think that these were from Damien, even
though lie himself had bought them.
Luke was delighted at this turn of events.
The next day, someone knocked on the door while Clarissa and Damien were eating at home.
A woman in a uniform walked in. Holding several bags of clothes from the brand that Clarissa had
returned the clothes to the day before.
Clarissa recognized her to be the store clerk to whom she’d returned the clothes.
“What’s wrong?” She thought that something had gone wrong with the clothes she’d returned.
“Your husband bought you the clothes that you returned yesterday, and he added on a few more
pieces. Would you like to take a look at them?” the store clerk asked.
Damien’s hand stilled at her words, then continued eating.
Clarissa glanced at him sweetly a few times. She didn’t like being too extravagant, and she found these
clothes to be too expensive, but she was still happy that Damien had done this for her. “You didn’t need
to do this, really. These clothes are so expensive, and I might not even wear them,” she said.
“It’s not an issue!” Damien wiped his hands expressionlessly. “Keep them if you like.”
After that, he went upstairs.
Grandpa said happily, “That’s just how he is! He doesn’t know how to say the right words, so people
don’t appreciate him.” Clarissa felt warm. Though she knew this marriage had an expiry date, she
suddenly felt that it wouldn’t be too bad if they were to stay married. After all, Damien treated her pretty
well.
In fact, she was beginning to feel jealous of Damien’s future wise.
Upstairs, Damien made a call to his assistant and told him to look into acquiring New Edge Mall, which
was the mall Clarissa had shopped at, He wanted his assistant to give him an update the very next
morning.
The next day, while at work, Clarissa received a text from Joseph. Joseph: (Did you get the clothes?)
Clarissa was puzzled.
Clarissa: (What?)
Joseph: (Did you get the clothes I bought for you last night?!
After that, he sent her several pictures of the clothes that she had returned.
Clarissa: [You bought those? Aren’t they from Damien?) She was confused. If Damien lidn’t bought
them, why did he make it sound like he had? Logically, there was no need for liim to lie. Wouldn’t he
fecl awkward if someone were to expose him? Despite hier confusion, she had already come to a
conclusion-Joseplı had probably bought the clothes.
She thought long and hard about how she was going to ask Damien about this. She couldn’t mention
Joseph’s name, or she’d have lo suller from Damien’s rage if he were to find out that Joseph had
bought the clothes,
After work, she got into Damien’s car.
“Hubby, you bought all the clothes that I returned. I really like them, so thank you!” she said.
“That’s good to low.” Damien had a pretty good idea of the person behind this. Now that Clarissa was
addressing him as “hubby”, it meant she was up to something. This also meant that she already know
who had bought the clothes. Perhaps the person behind this had told her.
“At first, I thought that someone else had bought them,” she said tentatively.
He glanced at her. “So, how many husbands do you have? Or do you just think that I wouldn’t be so
nice?”
“No, of course not. I didn’t mean that at all!” Clarissa hurriedly amended her words.
When they got home, there was another person who looked like a store clerk waiting for them. The
store clerk said that she was here to deliver cosmetics and jewelry to Clarissa.
She glanced at Damien, confused. This store clerk was also from New Edge Mall. Why did they keep
sending things to her? Now, it didn’t seem like Josephi had bought these for her.
“Go on, accept them,” Damien said.
The cosmetics were pretty expensive, and though Clarissa didn’t know anything about jewelry, they
probably weren’t cheap as well. w
After the store clerk left, she asked Damien, “Why does this shopping mall keep giving me things?” Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.
“Oh, I’ve been looking into acquiring this mall. Here’s the proposal.” He placed the proposal before her.
“They’re probably trying to butter you up so I’ll give them a better price.” Clarissa was taken aback. Had
Joseph lied?
